Greetings all. After waiting for this guitar to be released off of backorder I finally got it. I was so excited when I got the news of shipping item. I mean the build up and anticipation and all. Then I opened the box. Well it was in what Fender calls a Deluxe gig bag. Anyway I suppose it will keep it halfway safe. So I took the guitar out and was looking for the Wow factor. Didn't even come close. Look like it just came off the assembly line and thrown in the bag. Dirty as heck. No attempt at wiping it down let alone clean it. The fret's looked bronze in color. The fret ends not dressed at all. Not intonation or string height adjustments. Not even any protective cover over pick guard. The strings were not installed by Fender. Looked like some kid tried to restring it. Which makes me think this was a return and sent as new. What a disappointment. Instructions written in Spanish... WTF man. Isn't Fender an American company??? So I was stretching the strings out and the high E string broke. But wait.. the saddle exploded off the bridge. I found the saddle the spring but not the screw. This guitar missed any station in the Quality Control Dept. at Fender. I called Z and they said I can return it. Still waiting on that email. All I'm saying is if a guitar is on back order, don't get it. At least not from Fender. I have spent good money here at Z and never had a problem, but this is just un excusable from Fender. I do not know if zZounds inspects guitars or not. But you would think read more they would. I hope to hear back from zZounds soon with the return label. In closing I will say this would be a beautiful guitar if shown the respect it deserves. Anniversary edition? Far from it with this example. The 59 pick ups sound amazing! That's about all I can say positive.
