Just received my Viper 256 qm. The guitar is absolutely gorgeous. Weight it's surprisingly light, neck shape is beautiful. This thing looks much nicer than any instrument in it's price range has the right to look. This guitar comes with cheap tuners which have trouble holding tune. No excuse for this in 2023. You can buy budget locking tuners on Amazon for 30 bucks. Fretboard was shockingly dry and the frets themselves were very gritty and unpolished. Truss rod needed serious adjustment and action was ridiculously high out of box. I spent some time polishing frets with steel wool, conditioned the fretboard, adjusted the bridge and truss rod, and was finally able to play the thing. Honestly it still needs a fret job top to bottom. Even with truss adjusted something is always buzzing and the action is not as low as I like it. Fret ends are very sharp and honestly just kinda seems like the fretboard dried out and shrank a bit, exposing sharp fret ends. Once I fixed it up and was able to finally try it out, this is a great guitar. Pickups sound nice. Bridge pickup is very good, neck pickup is very standard. Cool tap does nothing useful. In short, needs a pickup upgrade, locking tuners, fret job and pro setup, and you'd have yourself a Viper-1000 ... For about the price of a Viper-1000
