Capture tones found on the Palisades with the pedalboard-friendly Dunes. Select from three different voices to tailor the tone on this souped-up screamer.

The EarthQuaker Devices Dunes V2 Mega Ultimate Overdrive Pedal is a condensed version of our highly popular Palisades which is a heavily featured take on the classic 808 overdrive. It features the same Gain, Tone and Level controls along with their favorite voice and bandwidth settings as well as the "Normal/Bright" toggle. The selectable voices are: "MOSFET" for a tight crunchy sound (Setting 3 on the Palisades), "Silicon" for the classic 808 sound (Setting 5 on the Palisades) and "None" which goes from clean boost to gritty, pure opamp distortion with a massive volume boost (Setting 1 on the Palisades). The two bandwidth settings are "stock" for the classic tone (Setting 3 on the Palisades) and "full range" for more low end (Setting 5 on the Palisades). The Dunes has all the great tone of the big boy Palisades but with a simplified interface and a smaller footprint! singularly natural drumming experience. Players will immediately notice the improved feel, response, and reduction in acoustic noise, making the DM10 MKII Studio Kit ideal for quiet late-night practice sessions, as well as live performance and no-compromise studio recording.

The V2 Upgrade features the new Silent soft-touch relay based switching.

- Power: Our pedals take a standard 9 volt DC power supply with a 2.1mm negative center barrel. We always recommend pedal-specific, transformer-isolated wall-wart power supplies or multiple isolated-output supplies. Pedals will make extra noise if there is ripple or unclean power. Switching-type power supplies, daisy chains and non-pedal specific power supplies do not filter dirty power as well and let through unwanted noise. Do not run at higher voltages! Current draw is 10 mA.

This is a very versatile overdrive. You can get the thickest, pounding tone putting this in front of a moderately gained amp. Or you can use it like the classice Tubescreamer and boost to your hearts content. The clipping features really do change the character and sound of the overall tone and the 'Bandwidth' toggle is probably my favorite feature.Bandwidth can switch between the classic mid-hump TS push or the driving the whole spectrum into a thick, full drive. This makes this OD ideal for regular guitar, baritone/down tuned, and bass guitar. You can lose here. On the other hand, the silicon and mosfet clipping and smooth out the gain somewhat, but might had a bit of 'fizz' at higher gain settings. Leaving the clipping toggle in the neutral position can slam the front of your amp into a high-gain frenzy for some serious leads and pummeling rhythm.The Normal/Brigh switch is exactly what you expect, darker/warmer or cooler and brighter, though altogether less dramatic than the other toggles in regards to overall tone sculpting power.
