Electro-Harmonix Oceans 12 Dual-Stereo Reverb Pedal

Drown your sound in the lush reverberation of the Oceans 12. This stereo pedal offers players 12 reverbs, ranging from rich Spring to crystalline Shimmer.

A dual-stereo reverb equipped with two simultaneous, independent, stereo reverb engines, series and parallel control, 24 presets, advanced I/O and a ton of innovative features.

The Oceans 11's big brother with even more reverbs and functionality. It features two simultaneous, independent, stereo reverb engines, series and parallel control for the dual reverbs, 24 presets and advanced I/O allowing for stereo in/out or mono send/return with pre and post reverb options. The pedal also includes a new Tide Control for stereo image alteration, a Lo-fi Control, an infinite attenuation control and an input jack for external expression and 3-button footswitch control.

A Tails switch provides a choice of whether the reverb effect fades out naturally or stops immediately when the pedal is switched to bypass. In most settings the pedal is also capable of producing infinite reverb which can be played over with a different reverb effect. Comes equipped with a standard EHX 9.6DC200mA power supply.

The Oceans 12 is a processing powerhouse!

The Oceans 12's reverbs are:
- Room- Two modes: reverb algorithms modeled after a lively room and a spacious performance hall
- Spring- Two modes: vintage 1962 Fender 6G15 tube reverb emulation and the spring algorithm from the EHX Holy Grail
- Plate- Two modes: two emulations of the smooth, metal plate reverb often used in high-end recording studios during the 1960s and '70s
- Reverse- Two modes: a reverse reverb effect as well read more as true reversed echoes
- Echo- Three modes: a digital delay with various echo rhythms feeding into a plate reverb
- Trem- Three modes: a classic, periodic volume envelope with various shapes applied to both the wet and dry mix of a hall reverb
- Mod- Two modes: chorus and flange reverbs that create rich reverb tails
- Dyna- Three dynamic, experimental reverb algorithms: swell, gate and duck
- Auto-Inf- Three modes: auto-infinite reverb (w/optional chorus or flange) that "listens" to your playing and crossfades to a new reverb wash upon detection of newly struck notes.
- Shimmer- Two modes: two configurations of a rich octave-shifted reverb wash
- Polyphonic- Two modes: two configurable bi-directional pitch shifts that add dimensionality to the reverb tail
- Resonant- Two modes: reverb excited by tunable resonators and configurable self-oscillating filters on the reverb tail

I have had this pedal for a little over a month now, and it has exceeded my expectations (which were already high!), much like the Oceans 11 did. Creating and saving presets in each mode is very simple, and the fact that you can run two reverbs at a time, either in series or in parallel, makes for some interesting and colorful sonic combinations. Every single setting has at least two modes that you can switch between, and the sounds are unique, while still being very musical. This is a real treat for anyone who wants a high-quality reverb pedal that doesn't completely break the bank.

Sound
The sound is very lush and rich, without any grainy, static noise. Using it in stereo is not required to get good sounds, but you can really enhance the reverb wash by using a stereo setup.

Features
The fact that you can save presets you come up with, and alter those presets without changing them once you have saved is essential for anyone wanting to use this pedal live.

Ease of Use
Figuring out how to use this pedal is super easy, even without the manual in front of you. It is very user-friendly and intuitive, and it is easy to fix any "mistakes" you make while experimenting. The print is a little bit small, making it impossible to see on a dark stage. To that end, it definitely serves to have a small lamp attached to your board if you plan on using this pedal in a live setting.

Quality read more
I've been using this thing for about a month, stomping on it pretty hard and the running it at maximum silliness into two loud amps. just like all of my other electro-harmonix pedals, it is built very well and feels like I will be able to keep it around for years.

Value
This is absolutely a fantastic value! Often times, when we hear the word "value" we immediately think of the word "cheap." This pedal, although not cheap, will get sounds that you can only get from reverb pedals costing at least $100 more.

Manufacturer Support
I haven't had to send any products back, or deal with the warranty or service department, but every time I have emailed with questions I have received a personal response, so I can vouch for the fact that they care about their customers.

Musical Background:
I've been playing guitar for a little over 20 years, while "dabbling" in bass and drums (don't we all lol?) in different bands.

Musical Style:
Desert Rock, glam, garage, dad-rock (ha!), electro, blues, funk
