Why Roasted?
Roasting the wood enhances stability by reducing the moisture content down to around 7%. The result is a more-resonant neck that's stronger and less susceptible to changing weather conditions.

- To protect against the effects of moisture, Allparts recommends sealing unfinished necks prior to installation.
- Due to the lack of moisture in roasted maple, the risk of cracking is more apparent. When drilling holes for screws, Allparts recommends measuring inside and outside of the threads first to determine the correct drill bit to use. Do not force screws into holes drilled with smaller drill bits.
