Gibson Potentiometer for Gibson Electric Guitars

zZounds Gear Experts Say...
As a replacement or as part of a new guitar project, official Gibson potentiometers are a dependable, high-quality choice for your volume and tone knobs.

Gibson potentiometers are designed for volume and tone knobs on Gibson electric guitars.

Audio taper potentiometers are traditionally used for guitar volume controls. With this type of pot, resistance changes gradually at first, then more rapidly as you turn the knob up -- just as human ears perceive loudness: on a logarithmic scale instead of linearly. On a guitar volume knob, this results in a smooth, natural volume increase, so you don't get a big jump in the first small turn.

Linear taper potentiometers are traditionally used for guitar tone controls. With this type of pot, resistance changes evenly across the knob's entire rotation, which means you get a consistent change from an electrical point of view. On a guitar's tone knob, this results in a gradual reduction in high frequencies, smoothing off the "edge" of the sound and revealing more of the underlying lows and mids. Though they're traditionally used on tone knobs, Gibson linear taper potentiometers can also be used for volume for that vintage Gibson feel.

Yes...I'm a seasonal Luthier and active guitar player in the last 40 years. I've been buying Gibson pots in the last few years when I needed to replace any of my Les Paul guitar pots (volume / tone). In the two months, I started buying a few cheap pots from Amazon (1/2 and 1/3 of the price) from non-brand from 3rd Party companies. I thought I was smart saving money. Then I started to realize, these non-brands do NOT sound like my original Gibson sound. I started to think, my wiring were "wrong." Then went back to revisit my wiring skills. Lol. It took me 3 weeks (80 hours) later...and I finally went back to zZounds site to buy a real Gibson pots. Overnight later, I installed these new Gibson pots (Long shaft)...and man, it wasn't me. It's the non-brand pots. I couldn't be happier. Thanks to zZounds. They sent this to me overnight. Love it.

Sound
Only ONE word, "Gibson" ---if you want the real sound with the clean, clear, bright, tight, sound what you bought from the store.

Features
Smooth transaction and smooth and bright sound.

Ease of Use
I like to use the modern wiring in Gibson's current schematics. It makes my sound very modern and thick and powerful with strong GAIN when you want to go everything from: Jazz, Blues, Pop, to Rock/Metal. Love it.

Quality
It's a "Gibson" sound. I will never buy 3rd party non-brand anymore. If you want your sound, go Gibson. read more Period.

Value
The Gibson's price is always a little more than non-brand from 3rd Parties. But it's very worthy - if you want to get the "sound."

Manufacturer Support
Love zZsound. I used to buy from Musicianfriends (years ago) and then to zZound. I started buying from Sweetwater in the last 9 years. I did not like their new Sell rep guy...so I went back to zZound (lol). My last product was bought from zZound for my Gibson LP Goldtop Classic in 2017.

The Wow Factor
5 out of 5 Stars. The transaction was fast. The product is the sound I want and need. Installed these pots within an hour...and I'm able to play again. No issues. I will buy Gibson's pots anytime. Now...I'm going to buy from zZound to replace my two Epiphone LP as well to get Gibson's pots.
