So, I decided to finally (reluctantly)replace my 16-year-old M-Audio Axiom 49 G1. I always thought, "It's just a controller, and it 'still controls,' so there is no real need to upgrade." Well, my 16-year-old buddy recently started showing its age and began to get annoying. Issues like constantly having to re-map not only the faders, sliders, and pads but even the transport controls nearly drove me nuts. I started researching and searching, and the KeyLab 49 offered the best features within my price range. However, during my research, I somehow missed the part about the software requiring Mac OS 11+ to work, and I am on 10.15. This was after I had placed my order, so I started panicking. But, hold up, they are only "recommended" requirements, right? Well, the keyboard came, and I installed all of the software, connected it to Logic Pro, and it worked like a charm. This thing is awesome. The ability to control some Arturia software feels like I am using one of the workstations I had back in the late 1900s. I didn't know what I was missing, and I feel like I've had some sort of epiphany. I can't wait to see what all this thing is capable of. I love it.
