I just got one today, and spent a few hours playing with it.
Compared to the SansAmp, the distortion is rather anemic, but is still adequate. It lacks the rich harmonics that I'm accustomed to.
Some of the modulation effects are a bit overbearing and rather difficult to tame. More options for fine-tuning them would be a huge plus.
The expression pedal is very good.
I get better clean tones with this unit than with my old rig.
While it will take some tweaking and wiring tricks to integrate it with my primary tone, I will likely find it to be a valuable component in my arsenal.
While my current setup is great for rhythm, a good lead tone eludes me, and the Zoom 606 shows promise for achieving the tone I'm looking for, once integrated into the rest of the rig.
The size is just right. It fits easily into the pocket of my gig bag, with room to spare.
For someone who wants a wide variety of very protable effects, I give the Zoom 606 a high rating.
Even with its' weak points, I feel that I got my moneys' worth, just for half the features it contains. I really doubt that I could find anything that beats its' performance at the same price.
