Feature:
For the price it's a 10! I am just getting back into piano and wanted a piano that had the GHS keyboard for the feel and a yamaha sampled grand piano for the sound. The keys feel increadible and quickly I was feeling like a stage performer. Just like a real piano. Very impressed. And it has far more features and sounds than I expected from a digital grand for less than a grand. I paid $750 and it came with stand and very comfortable bench. USB to my laptop and away I go... but has tons of onboard features.
Quality:
Quality is also amazing, something I guess is common from Yamaha. The box had tons of quality padding and protection to the piano. The matching stand is rock solid and does not jiggle at all. Everything about this piano feels rock solid. It is a home piano, so the stand is not a portable one, which is most likely why it feels so solid. Was super easy to assemble and minimal amount of screws and parts to deal with.
Value:
I did tons of research across 4 different brands, ranging from $500 to $2,200. Yamaha had the best natural feeling keys compared to Casio and Roland that I tried in person (in my price range). And Yamaha also had the best natural sounding Grand piano sampling. Just those 2 things alone made the $750 price an instant win for me. The USB, tons of extra sounds, 6 track composer, built in lessons, graphical screen to show sheet music, large music rest, and natural wood accents, included stand, etc... just sweetened the deal.
I look forward to getting back into piano now. Value is incredible.
Desirability:
This piano looks sleek and professional on the stand. I only wish they offered it in black instead of silver to go along with the natural wood accents. That would have really bumped it to a 10 for me. Also, since this is a home keyboard with solid stand, it would have been nice if there was a pedal support beam across the bottom. Or at least an optional matching one to buy for this piano. Instead of the standard free floating pedal on the floor.
Sound:
Sound, gave it a 9 only because I know it's not the loudest piano out there. But it is by no means quiet. It sounds incredible in our living room and the quality of the sound is amazing from built in speakers. I was first skeptical because of the advertised 6 watts + 6 watts rating. 12watts doesn't sound like much, but it's much louder and cleaner than you would imagine.
Ease of Use:
10 because it's one touch grand piano sound gives you a quick and easy "play the piano" mode. Yet with the combination of navigation jog wheel AND numerical pad, it's easy to find other great sounds. Though it would have been equally nice if it had more 1 touch buttons... or better yet, some user defineable buttons so you could map your favorite choices to direct buttons.
Support:
I will assume that support is a 10 as well. I haven't had to use it yet. And I doubt I ever will need it. But from what I have seen of Yamaha, and their easy to use website, etc. I expect that all forms of customer support will be top notch. If the quality of the product box and packaging are any clue, then the customer support will definately be a 10.
Overall:
At $750 at my local Yamaha dealership, with GHS keyboard, stand, music rest, sustain pedal, and excellent extra padded bench.... it's such an incredible value. After a lot of searching, it was starting to look like $1,200-1,500 was going to be the price range for what I wanted and with lack of stand, etc. So I was shocked at $750 for this great piano.
