I own 3 of these. One is a series III. I play a piano bar and use an electronic keyboard and personal arranger with the acoustic piano. I've used other speakers under the piano and none (other than the JBL) had as good a sound as the yamaha SM12III. I just bought 2 series IV to use as stage monitors and also to use as mains for a smaller system, for the band. I like the sound. Sometimes I run them full range and sometimes I use them with bass bins (sub woofers). I have not been disappointed with the sound.

I have owned four of these monitors for nearly 5 years and have had NO problems of any sort. My band has four lead vocalists. I use an A&H Mix Wizard 16x2 and am able to provide a unique sub mix to each monitor/vocalist. From the A&H, each monitor signal is sent through one side of a stereo gated compressor, a stereo 15 band eq, and a 2x400 watt power amp. The sound is loud and clear. On smaller dates, I put two of them on speaker stands and use them as the main PA !
