I'm a blues player. This card is by far the best value for a B3 sound under 500 lbs. I use it in a JV1010...and I also have a Hammond XB-2, but the organ sounds in this card beat all the others. This is true for the Vox/Farfisa patches, too. I've tried ALL other modules and clones. The Rhodes and Wurlis are very good also, but a few of EP sounds have some background noise...the only negative to this card. I wouldn't record with them, but they sound fine for live work. Bottom line? If you can stand not having drawbars to tweak real-time, this is what you need...especially if you play classic rock covers. Otherwise you can buy a new Korg CX-3 or Voce V5 for a lot more $$.

Feature:
The most useful sounds for me are Tone Wheel Piano-Wurlitzer,and a couple of the Rhodes-patches.

Quality:
Yep,it's made very well.

Desirability:
Being a professional musician and in need for those old B3/Wurlitzer/Rhodes-sounds,I just had to get me one of these..;)

Sound:
Sounds great. The Tonewheel Piano is incredible. The Wurlitzer too.. Don't care much about the B3-sounds anymore, since I now own a Korg CX3,which of course sounds much better.(obviously, since the price is so much higher.) I've owned my XP-50 since 1995,and now I'm wondering about buying the Piano-board.I need some good piano sounds on stage, and in my home studio.

Support:
There is no real support for Roland here in norway. The guys at the music shop don't bother checking up on these "old" cards anyway.

I have this expansion in my xp-50 and if there ever was a song written between '60 and '79, you can find it (or tweak it) with this soundset. Ray Manzerek would be impressed with the Doors patches. Riders/Storm has an excellent glassyness that makes you want to play the song over and over. A lot of the mellotron patches are excellent. Non of the patches are duplicated here which I find annoying in other sound modules. Although, there really isn't anything out there to compare this board with I don't think I'd look for too much else.

This board sounds great!! really, it's tru. I bought it for the Rhodes piano, 'cause the jv-synths don't own good Rodes piano's. But they sounds great at this board.
And then the Hammond organs.....WOW!! They are so realistic, especially for this price.
