SPOTLIGHT REVIEW
Sound: Sound is extremely good after some EQ adjustment to remove boominess on the bass. My favorite settings are "acoustic" and "r-fier." Acoustic is brighter, more compressed, and less twangy then the clean channel, makes for a great clean sound. R-fier is Pantera/Metallica style distortion ... smoothly heavy and articulate, does not sound muffled or tinny but rather beefy and well-distorted, allows easy and clear pinch harmonics and crunchy palm muting. Feature: This amp needs additional adjustment controls on the effects. Right now there are just two effects knobs with several settings on each, which does make for quickness and simplicity though at the price of customizability of the effect. All other features are great. Ease of Use: Gotta give it to Roland, this amp is extremely easy to use. Only thing I looked up in the manual was how to use the chromatic version of the tuner. Involved holding the tuner button down for a full second, that's all. Everything else is intuitive. Quality: Oh yeah, this amp oozes quality. Totally solid, yet light-weight for its size and wattage. The pots are active not passive, so I won't be expecting any crackling ever. Value: First of all, this thing is compact for a 30 Watt, and very loud too. Need earplugs for anything above half volume. So that with the good distortion makes for a great value. Like others said, best in its price range. Only thing that might come close is the similar Vox, but the Vox is quite a bit wider than the Cube and for me compactness was important. Manufacturer Support: Haven't used it, but everything I've heard/read says Roland provides good support. The Wow Factor: It will attract metal-babes. If you want the older gentler ladies, get a vintage Fender amp and wear dockers when you play. Overall: This is the amp I was looking for. Wanted something that was loud, compact, good value, good quality, with distortion that brings a smile to my face. It did all these. Played a Schecter Damien-6 through it, and sounds awesome. It's the best amp I could have gotten for the money. Almost went with the 20X but changed my mind after realizing only the 30X had the r-fier (mesa/boogie emulator) and I absolutely needed massive gain.

Sound: The sound is pretty good. I used to have a Marshall and the Roland sounds close. Feature: Awesome features. Has everything to offer. Ease of Use: Incredibly easy to perfect the sound. Quality: Industrial grade; I've bumped this amp around for a while and it works and looks like new. Value: For the money, this amp is the best bang for your buck. The Wow Factor: Doesn't have a very 'sexy' look, but it looks like it wants to rock.

Sound: the quality is excellent and it ranges well through different styles. Feature: it has a few good features. i luv the gain it can produce. Ease of Use: gettin a great sound is simple i got a great sound for my style easily Quality: it is solid state so is very tough. good long lasting amp Value: it wasnt to expsensive for all the things it has like EFX The Wow Factor: i wouldnt say it's terribly sexy but IT IS A BEAST! Overall: i wil b satisfied for ages. the sond quality makes my current low grade guitar sound great.

Sound: I bought this amp as a complete beginner last year. The clean in this amp is phenomenal, the gain channels on the other hand are not. The amp seemed to fluctuate, sometimes outputting a decent sound and sometimes complete rubbish. A decent amount of effects are included which honestly I never took advantage of. After playing through a tube amp you really can see the difference, well you can't compare this budget amp to a 1k+ amp. I would recommend this amp to a beginner, who will probably outgrow it, as have I. Feature: A decent amount of modeling settings are available... As mentioned before the clean is quite well. The best sound I found came from the r-fier setting, which mimics a rectifier amp. Still all the distorted sounds sound compressed and digitized. The EQ itself was not very responsive either. Ease of Use: Every thing is labeled easily and no major tweaking is required. Quality: Nicely built little amp, has lasted me for about a year with no problems. Value: Great beginning amp, if price is an issue I would recmment saving a few bucks and going with a lower watt model of this amp. Manufacturer Support: Have had no chance to deal with. Overall: Overall the amp helped me achieve a lot in the 9 months I have been playing. I have however moved on and seek a better sound..
