I became completely disenchanted with every folding X-stand I used (I play an Alesis QS-8 keyboard). I couldn't stand (no pun intended) the way that X-stands allow way too much flex--especially at the extreme ends of the keyboard. This messes up the after-touch feel, i.e., harder to engage and control at the extreme ends.

No problem with the WS550...rock solid and stable. More room for multiple foot pedals too. Finally, I personally think it looks terrific. I highly recommend this stand !

This is not really a keyboard stand. QuikLok markets it as a stand for a heavy mid-sized mixer such as Mackie 8-bus. I use it with my Behringer MX9000 -- absolutely perfect. Great for portability, FOH sound mixer. I've also bought this stand for a client's trade show booth, to support a big Panasonic TAU 30-35" flat screen TV. This television is big, heavy, takes two men to lift, but very secure atop the QuikLok stand (requires plywood to form table top, skirting), but makes heavy monitor safe around unsupervised children, etc. This is a great product. BTW - buy two. They are stackable for applications requiring extra height.

This thing is the bomb. I purchased it because I thought that it was expandable. However, nobody appears to support the accsesories to expand. Quicklok builds one hell of a stand (I purchased it because I don't like like the Jesus jazz from Ultimate), and it is SUPPOSEDLY insanely accesorizable.
