Round, bell like tones on the clean channel (neck pickup of telecaster), slightly overdriven to "full on" rock on the dirty channel. This amp excels at everything and is super light and attractive. The only complaint that i have is that the direct usb recording tone is not the best. It's not bad by any means. It could just use a better cabinet SIM. Bottom Line: This amp is absolutely incredible sounding.

This is my first tube amp. I have had it for 4 months. I have to say that it is very fun. I play daily and have a pretty extensive pedal board that it pairs with well. I needed an attenuated amp and this fit the bill in my apartment bldg. I raan it on 1 watt for a week and it sounded OK. IT hit its sweet spot at 5 watts with the volume on 3! I use the included pedal a lot and the dirty side sounds as noice as the dirt on my pedals. So much fun and so far at 2 hours a day, it has been performing well with a Peavey 112-C Cab I got with it. Love this amp! IT does Metal, Rock and Country as well!

"Great Amp with Bad Tubes"

The classic 20 arrived DOA soundwise. It made a little noise when guitar was plugged in and played. I pulled the 3 Ruby brand tubes from the preamp section and put in a set of JJ ecc83 preamp tubes. It sprang to life and sounds beautiful. Volume to spare with sparkling cleans and beautiful distortion. Pared with the right speaker cabinet, it really performs. I highly recommend this amp. It would be nice if zZounds would send three JJ ecc83 replacements to me.

Been playing for a long time and this is the first tube amp I have ever owned. I wanted an amp that would give me the sound I wanted out of the box and this one does not dissapoint. It's small size and light weight make it a breeze to take to gigs and jams. It is plenty loud to play in a club and the attenuator makes it quiet enough to practice at home without piss in off the family. The clean channel is crisp and sparkly and breaks up at around 7. The dirt channel is buzzy like12ax7 normally are so I'm gonna change the first preamp tube soon. Overall a great deal for the money. Get one, you'll love it.
