Orange Tiny Terror TT15 Guitar Amplifier Head (15 Watts with Gig Bag)

This extremely portable head was built to the same specifications as its bigger Orange brothers, so you can expect quality and overdriven British tone.

"The Zenith of Classic Rock Tone"

If you like clean tones with lots of headroom, this is not for you. But if you like organic, sweet classic rock overdrive, this is your ticket. I love this amp with the master on 10 and the gain about halfway up with a Les Paul. Bone crushing crunch, with tons of tone. Don't worry if this amp is loud enough, it is. I am using it with a 4 x 12 Marshall cabinet, and it sounds awesome. The 15 watt setting isn't much louder than the 7 watt setting, but the tone is fatter & has more punch. The sound of the power tube breakup is just magic on this little beast. Only thing I could ask for would be an effects loop, but it's really just fine without it. The simplicity of the single tone control is nice. I usually use a Marshall 50 watt tube head, which I love but it is really loud by the time it sounds great. This amp is loud cranked but manageable. Buy this amp if you would like to step back in time and get the classic rock vibe. You won't be disappointed.

I like this little amp a lot, the only thing in this "lunch box" style of head that might be cooler for some is the Mesa Trans Atlantic, but a lot more $ and tons of knobs again. I like a simple rig and the TT is a great fit for me right now. I will probably up grade the tubes and transformers some day, but I don't need to rush the TT is VERY COOL as is. Cons? I would like a 4ohm out and I wish 2 8s could be run out of the 2 8s rather than 2 16s
Sound
For playing a heavy blues, hard/classic rock kind of style this is a sweat little amp
Features
The gig bag is nice. 3 knobs might not be enough for some, but my favorite amps have often had 1 or 2 knobs. I love the simplicity, and the 7.5/15 watt toggle is cool.
Ease of Use
It does what it does well. Just be careful with the speaker outs. 1-18ohm and 2-8ohms, but you can not run 2 8ohm cab, but can run 2 16ohm cabs out of the 2 8 ohm jacks, but this warning is in the manual.
Quality
Seem well made. Made in Asia, but in recent years the quality and consistency of most Asian made guitars and amps has gone way up. 15 or 20 years ago I would not have wanted any of it for free
Value
For the price I feel like I got a great deal, don't forget zsounds will price match (or price beat) and give you basically free financing, free shipping and no tax.

The Wow Factor
It's lite, just strap the gig bag over your shoulder, let it hang to the side, a guitar in a gig bag over each shoulder, a 1x12 cab in 1 hand and a bag of stuff, or 1 of those little pedal boards that come in gig bags in your other hand and ONE trip from the car to the gig!

"Best amp for the money"

Overall: 4.5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
best purchase i have made. I payed less than half of what another "boutique" amp would cost and got equal value. it fills my needs as a club musician and would do fine on a big stage (because they would mic it). i have a few different tube amps (jet city 50watt head, fender super-sonic combo, and a marshall jmd100) and the only other one i play with at gigs is the fender for its super clean sound. i bring the jet city amp as a backup. To sum it up, skip Marshall and buy an orange.
Sound
Great tone. For a little over 500 bucks u get orange crunch and a surprisingly bright, "jangle" of a clean when you back off on your guitar volume knob. the jangle comes from the pair of el84 tubes in the power section. This amp uses the same tube pairing as the vox ac15, but is wired a little bit hotter.
Features
This amp lacks a fx loop and a full eq so i docked it one point each, but it is built well enough that the tone knob is able to allow you to dial in almost any sound you want. I believe the tone knob is more than just a top end cut, which allows you to get anything from blues rock to scooped mids for metal. i dig the gain and volume knobs which allow me to pick which tubes i overdrive, and if need be i can get full diode clipping for a metal sound. Overall, the features still get an 8 bc of this.
Ease of Use
3 knobs, an on/off switch and a stanby/power selector switch. almost too simple. The manual doesnt even explain anything becuase it's soo simple. just read about the cab pairing before you plug in the wrong ones. To keep it simple, i only purchase 16ohm cabs so i can run two.
Quality
ive dropped it, accidentally pushed it off my cab during a show, and given it way too much abuse but somehow it still works great. I couldn't tell it was made in china till i checked. The aluminum toaster design isnt bulletproof, but it is close. Great for a musician on the go.
Value
you get way more than what you pay for. I gig with this amp and it keeps up fine. I use 2 1x12 jet city cabs with one celestion v30 and one 70-eighty speaker. Its only about 4db quieter than my 100watt tube state Marshall, and its much more suited for bedroom and club levels. if you are on the fence, buy it. you will not be disappointed.
Manufacturer Support
i had to make a call about tubes replacement (since i put about 200hrs on them in the first 2 months) and they were very helpful. i was on hold for 15 minutes, but they were very knowledgeable about their product.
The Wow Factor
sex appeal? if your not embarrassed of having a tiny head amp set up, its super sexy. if you play through a 4x12 it will look like a tick (tiny head, big body), but its unique. i dig the orange glow from the on lamp and the white body and you can see that it is an orange amp from the back of the club. its like wearing Gucci sunglasses, it may not be the most stylish, but the name makes it stylish.
