"Thick Orange Growl"

This is such a useful and great sounding head. Easy to take with you. It sounds good at low wattage volumes, and sounds great with a band. I can see wanting a Fender for some more serious clean tones, but I would not replace this little monster.
Sound
Great Orange "growl" through and through. Tubes are easy to get warmed up with the options of cutting out half of the output tubes, or cutting down the wattage. You can get great saturated tone at low volumes, or can really get it cookin at 30 watts. It gets plenty loud. Of course, with Orange, there is great overdrive sound... and the drive is just better than a lot of pedals could ever do. There is also a very nice just slightly dirty tone, with the drive right about half way up. This amp doesn't have a lot of clean headroom, but that really isn't what Orange is about.
Features
Very simple, and meant to be. Vol, Tone, and Drive for each channel. I love that the output is switchable between 7,15, and 30 watts. There is a jack to plug in a footswitch (not included). An effects loop would have been nice, but the limited pedals I use work fine in front.
Ease of Use
Very simple to dial up great tone.
Quality
It is PRC, but seems very well designed and made. Very sturdy.
Value
For the (mid)low price, it is a great tube amp. Can easily power a 4-12 and cook, and sounds great through my 1-12.
Manufacturer Support
Have not had an issue.
The Wow Factor
Simple amp that sounds great. It has a nasty heavy growl, but can play some great blues tones, too. Everyone that hears, sees, or plays it loves it.

Endless options for rock sounds and the heavy side of the blues. Don't let the 30 watt max fool you. I play it through a 4x12 cab (old crate from the early 90's) and it is super loud. In fact the louder you play it the better it gets. I have owned dozens of amp and this my first orange. I will only play through them for now on. The DT30 is like a time machine of hard rock sound.

This amp is really great all around, especially for those players who do not use a lot of effects. The clean tones are good, not great, but honestly, that is not what you use an Orange amp for anyways. It gives you the best British crunch and British lead tone I have used when comparing the DT to any other amp in its size/power class. If you do like to use a lot of effects, you may want to look elsewhere. Reverb and delay in front of the amp become very muddy, almost to the point of being unusable. I have been able to get around this to a certain extent by playing a clean amp and driving it with an OD pedal, but this is also less than Ideal, as there are no pedals I have played that can provide such natural tube distortion as the DT. In summary this amp is great for players who are looking for that one British rock tone. Not the most versatile amp, but for those of us who are not necessarily looking for a Swiss army knife of an amp, it might be worth a look.

This is an amazing amp! It can be harsh with vintage 30 but greenbacks take the harshness out (personal preference). I played 1 show with this with a V 30 112 wide open back mesa cab. This amp can outrageously loud (its class A big difference than a class A/B amp) but the sound is soooo awesome! I love the power settings. Can use 2 power tubes and a high power and low power switch on the back and front. fat channel has more bass response and is darker. the tiny Terror channel isn't as dark. I am very happy with my purchase! I wouldn't recommend 30 watts at rehearsal. Can easily bury a drummer.... even the 7 watt setting is loud enough to keep up with a hard hitting drummer! damn! No effects loop...
