For the price, a steal

Desirability:
This thing just plain looks sexy. Turn the lights off and watch it glow.

Sound:
Alesis made sound.

The line faders take getting used to because they are straight db instead of volume adjusted.

Quality:
sad sad because it would be nice to have a full on mixer to go head to head with the TTX! tables which i love. WHY O WHY couldn't they have better quality control.

Desirability:
lot sof features that are really nice and sexy

Sound:
if you really like the sound of clipping pops then be my guest

Support:
they had the "at least we're honest" attitude but i wonder even about that. The man i talked to said they were known to go out and buy equipment to test out but they never did. I wonder if my complaint ever got past that PR person's desk

Overall:
i got this mixer and I was hoping to hook my TTX1 using digital straight through to My pro grade MOTU. I thought i would start the digital chain right at the TTX1. I was really wrong. When connecting this unit to my Motu. I had horrible snaps, pops, clicks. with half the volume. Usually a sign of porr digital timing. By process of elimination i hooked my TTX1 directly up to my motu to make sure i had the right settings. IT sounded fine. I also hooked my CDJ100 to the motu with no problem. So i was thinking that it was out of sync to due to the slight delay from the first of the chain to the motu so i hooked my TTX1 to the PPD9000 with the analog out and then hooked the SPDIF to my motu. The magical pops, clicks and snapping returned. Well to clarify more, These weren't small subtle vinyl pops ,and snaps. these were meter clipping noises that pinned my meters in the red. This would ruin a recording if i tried. I went through every setting on it and compared sample rates specs and every thing to see if it was some mistake i was making. I didn't have any problem with anyother piece of equipment so i thought i had a faulty unit. i got the dealer to send me back another one and that did the same thing. I could hook it up with theanalog out but what's the point of a completely digital mixer if you have to hook it up analog. When you want to switch over to digital you only want to do it once. Well as it seemed i had much correspodence with the a numark technician who said they couldn't replicate the problems i had and as much as he said they have been known to go out and buy equipment (like the MOTU)and test it he never did. I think this is really said because it would be a another acheivment by numark but instead they decided not to go all the way and miss the mark because of their attitude. The technician said a it was a difference in bit depth, Which i thought he was incorrect
