It's TRS in the rear for inserts, with UNBALANCED TS sends (black) and UNBALANCED TS returns (red) on the front. There is NO provision for normalling, so you'll have to patch every time. It would be good for sending 8 signals to tape and returning those signals post deck while tracking, but not much else.
I use it for amplifier to speaker patching in a studio, and it's nice for that, but if you do that, beef up the circuit boards with speaker wire to handle the higher current.
