Feature:
At this price point, the only feature I am not happy with,is the painfully loud yellow color of the woofers, but apart from that,it's a very nice looking cabinet & baffle.

Quality:
It's feels & appears to be sturdy, but down the road, only time will tell... Since these monitors have no mesh grilles over the drivers & the cabinet is fiberboard,I would not reccomend it outside of the studio, unless you tansport them with the original boxes.

Value:
Yes.

Desirability:
If it were'nt for the yellow woofer,I would have given the appearance a top rating...unless you have yellow walls with a carribean motif in your home, these monitors will clash harshly in a typical studio enviroment. A nuetral color for the LF driver, such as aluminum or any shade of gray would have been ideal,in my opinion.

Sound:
Based my my experiences, the RP8's are the most perfectly balanced monitors out there for $400.Sonically,thier very punchy & detailed at this price point-very impressive. I've only had these monitors for a day,but after having run all types of audio through it,such as my Zoom 8HD,commercial cd's and my Korg Triton Extreme,I get the distinct impression that mixing & mastering on the RP8's will be a breeze an a utter joy!

Ease of Use:
These monitors blended very well into my treated,13'X 10' room. The HF adjustment is in the flat position,so it was just plug & play right out of the gate.

Support:
In the past,I've had good contact with them.

Overall:
I will have these monitors as long as they hold up and if I had to replace them,I would do so if the price is right, but I would prefer the special edition color that KRK had come out with, some time ago.

Feature:
XLR, 1/4", and RCA inputs are cool. Level control and adjustable high end response knobs are a bonus.

Quality:
I've seen one of these speakers take a spill onto it's front, on cement, from a tabletop (while pumping) and not even flinch. (a few scratches.. still work perfectly.) Extremely well assembled.

Desirability:
Bumble bee theme. If you're looking at it, you're also hearing it.

Sound:
These aren't Genelecs, but they're head and shoulders above everything that I've heard in this price range. Nice response curve to my ear; strong bass reproduction like larger monitors.

Support:
The best kind- unnecessary.

Feature:
These aren't loaded with features, but the high frequency adjustment knob is pretty nice. A power switch on the front would make it a bit easier to turn them off and on, but it's no big deal. You don't really need anything else. And my four year, no questions asked warranty is very nice.

Quality:
Everything seems very sturdy and of high quality, from the metal cabinet to the glass-aramid composit woofer. Definitely can't beat they're quality for the price. Seems just as high quality as monitors twice their price.

Value:
These ARE the best monitors you can buy for the price. If you're on a limited budget, but still looking to get a pair of good, clear sounding monitors, you have to get these.

Desirability:
They just look awesome. The yellow woofer looks a lot better in person than I thought it would be. And again, the price just makes it a whole lot better, especially when you can compare them with a pair of Mackie HR824's.

Sound:
These monitors sound awesome. Its got smooth, deep lows; full pronounced mids; and bright highs. My friend has a pair of Mackie HR824's and you can't tell a difference between those and my KRK's. I am sure there are better sounding monitors, there has to be, but for the price, you can't beat these. They really make beautiful, clear sounds.

Ease of Use:
Very simple to use, just plug them in, turn them on, and start making some sounds.

Support:
I haven't needed they're support yet.

Overall:
I will keep this for as long as they keep on working. I really needed chrystal clear sound to help with sound designing and mixing. and these have done everything I could ever want out of a pair of monitors. I love these monitors, and I'll never go back to a regular pair of speakers again.

Feature:
Anything you would really need. A power switch on the front would have been a nice addition but I'm not complaining. It is pretty effortless to reach around to the back and flip a switch. Came with a pretty sweet power cable and a high quality cardboard box too!

Quality:
I can't be absolutely certain on this because I just purchased them today. As long as they hold up well, they are a definite 10. The Cabinet is seamless and the finish seems solid and attractive. They definitely seem to built like tanks.

Value:
I challenge you to find a better monitor for the price.

Desirability:
Seamless cabinet, wide port at the bottom, nice finish and, of course, the awesome yellow driver. The only thing that I don't particularly care for appearance-wise is the Rokit8 logo that is tacky on its own without having the power LED behind it. That isn't bad though. It is a great looking monitor and if a little logo is the best thing to complain about in a monitor, then I would call it a huge success.

Sound:
Pretty amazing...even at higher volumes. I just picked these monitors up after reading all of the rave reviews and then (of course) testing them out at a local store. I have been mixing on some pretty cheap monitors and after re-doing a few mixes today through these things...WOW!!! There is a BIG difference in the overall quality of my mixes. These things are exceptionally flat and, overall, very detailed. Granted, I have only been working on the RP-8's for a total of 6 hours but the RP-8's are impressive, especially for the price.

Ease of Use:
Plug it in and enjoy

Support:
Haven't dealt with them

Overall:
I will be using these monitors for a long time. I am very pleased.

Feature:
All switches and stuff you need. would like an on-off switch on front... Going to the back I dont like.

Quality:
I like the quality. Heavy and solid.

Value:
Incredible. I have heard some monitors (Including Genelecs in super big studios). These ain´t Genelecs, but are pretty good for sure.

Desirability:
Hmmm yellow cones. I ilike them. Waaaay sexier than flat black.

Sound:
Good, detailed. Bass extends well up to 60 hz, no 140 as someone said. Pretty good for catching bass fights, I must say. Detailed highs. Midrangey, but thats what a monitor should do, be a magnifying glass. As with any $100 to $10000 monitors, you have got to know their sound. Several hours of listening are needed to become intimate with them. Someone said these ain´t good for hip-hop or dance music. Not true. Its my business (dance music). I am good at it.

Ease of Use:
Turn on, plug the cable and go... Hm well, normal use.

Support:
I havent used it.

Overall:
I think I am going for the VXT´s, since my hearing and skills have improved a lot. Time to climb up the stairs.

Feature:
The speaker is very useful for producing because of it’s several inputs, which puts up a very versatile tool for any kind of monitoring.

Quality:
I experienced a few quality problems with my first two pieces, but a replacement did it for me. The truth is that I did not want the money back because I had already heard them in action so the retailer gave me another pair.

Value:
The sound quality is very good for the price.

Desirability:
it looks like a black and yellow Porshe

Sound:
The sound quality is very good for the price. The tweeter reproduces clean crispy highs, too analytical, but it’s quite useful for the purpose. On the other hand the woofer is not so dynamic and rebelling as in more expensive studio monitors, is accentuated in the midbass region making the final output a bite boomy, anyhow it does a fine "ballsy" job if you know what I mean. The tonal balance is highly regarded, reaching exceptionally precise mixes with sound full of body, depth and articulation.

Ease of Use:
Very simple to use, it could benefit from a front on/off switch.

Support:
Nothing to say

Overall:
I’m expecting to have these monitors until I develop my audio skills and my ear demands me more.

Feature:
High frequency adjust knob, volume knob, power switch. I wish these had an auto on/off feature like the V-series 2. And maybe a few more room adjustment controls other than HF.

Quality:
The XLR input and power cord input do not fit snugly to cables. Maybe this was intended so an accident wouldn't topple your monitors.

Value:
This sound for that price is a great deal.

Desirability:
Yellow speakers are cool. I'm still getting used to looking at them when I wake up in the morning. I wish they would have put the "on" led behind the 8 instead of between the K and I. Totally nitpicking though.

Sound:
There are better monitors out there, but they're over twice as much. Highs are very articulate and crisp. Mids are well defined and a bit more pronounced than most other monitors I demoed. You will most likely need to use a sub with these though. The 8" woofers do a great job for the low midrange but start losing volume at about 170hz and all but die at about 140hz. You can still hear it but it's very faint.

Ease of Use:
Plug in, determine your appropriate HF adjust, and you're ready to go.

Support:
Can't think of any question the manual can't answer.

Overall:
Because I'll have to buy an additional sub, the loose cable fittings, and no auto-on/off, I give it a 9. If I ever replaced these, I'd take the plunge and pour mucho dinero into some high-end mackies or events.

Quality:
Unbelievable! These are the BEST monitors for under $500 for the pair. I mean they kick ASS!

Sound:
The sound quality in my opinion is better than my homeboys $1200 mackie monitors. The sound is UNBELIEVABLE!

Ease of Use:
Everything is cut and dry.

Support:
never needed it.

Overall:
KRK really outdid themselves with this one. Sure there are monitors that are better but for $500 for the pair they blow every other monitor away when it comes to performance vs. value.

Feature:
Would have liked a low frequency control like on the DS-90As, but it does at least have a high control.

Quality:
Like everyone else has said. Like a tank. Nice rounded corners and no covering to peel off the wood at the corners like most monitors. It is like a solid block of polished granite. No seems anywhere.

Value:
Sound almost as good as some 1,200 JBLs they had at the store.

Desirability:
Beautiful

Sound:
SOund is very clean and very balanced. I had Roland DS-90As for 3 days in my small studi and they sounded great, but one of the tweets was distorting on certain frequencies, so I returned them (used from a pawn shop). I got these as replacements. Slightly less bass, but it is true bass, not colored. I tested a burn to CD of some stuff and they proved very accurate.

Ease of Use:
Plug it in and go.

Support:
Don't know

Overall:
Will keep until I blow them or my kids punch holes in them.

Quality:
As stated in the Sound section, they resonate and sound tubby. I have them at least 2 ft from side walls, and 2 ft from the rear wall, and then 3 ft from me with 4 ft between them. Ears sit between mid and tweeter.

Value:
Yuo can do better, probably with Alesis or M-Audio.

Sound:
I had hoped for good things frmo these after reading all of the reviews. Maybe too many people jsut haven't heard live music before. These sound tubby and recessed. Unfortunately, when you place the treble slector in the +1dB spot, they begin to sound harsh. One sounds better than the other though, and its apparent that there are quality control issues. One cabinet resonates terribly, while the other is solid when you knock on the side. I opened it up to check on the inside, and they don't even use toroidal transformers on the amp section like M-Audio does, they use cheap Els instead. I guess you get what you pay for, I knew the price was too good to be true, made in China...

Support:
Why don't they have a N/A selection....?

Overall:
I hoped for more, but got what I paid for instead.

Solid as a rock..

There are monitors at three times the price which can bow down to the KRKs.

Sound:
Flat response, translates accurately on any other system, and trust me, I'm used to taking my final mixes and hearing them on about 10 different speaker systems and the KRKs give you a detailed realistic accurate representation of the mix.

What other way is there to spend 500 bucks on your studio and feel like a king.
