I have produced everything from jazz, hip-hop, funk, dance and R&B tracks on my Triton, and I must say this is the MOST VERSATILE instrument I have ever played. Those who complain that it sounds cheap are just AMATEURS...once you get deep into the system and really take advantage of its dynamic controls (which can affect almost every sonic parameter), the expressiveness and richness of play truly rivals live instrumentation--especially when you fuse your arrangements with sampled sounds. Sequencing is a beautifully fluid process. The touch-screen interface is very intuitive, and the act of creating music has only gotten easier and more liberating. This will become the centerpiece of any pro studio, and honestly I don't think it's right to draw comparisons to the akai MPCs...the Triton can pump bangin beats and samples as good as any MPC and still do one better: you can write your OWN material from scratch. But be warned, this keyboard takes much time to master, and it's pretty worthless if you aren't a decent player of the ivory+ebonies. Definitely not for the "groovebox" musician (the only peeps who give this machine bad ratings...go push some more blinking buttons and loopy knobs you quantize-junkies, you'll never know what REAL playing is about)!

I OWN A ROLAND XP50 WHICH IS A VERY GOOD KEYBOARD BUT NOT USER FRIENDLY. THIS TRITON IS AWESOME. THE SOUNDS ARE SUPER AS WELL AS BEING USER FRIENDLY. I AM NOT THE MOST INTELLIGENT WHEN IT COMES TO WORKING WITH SOME OF THE NEW TECHNOLOGY, BUT THE TRITON HAS PROVEN TO ME THAT I AM NOT AS BAD OFF AS I THOUGHT. I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH WORKING WITH THIS KEYBOARD THAT IT'S UNREAL. THE PROGRAMS AND SOUNDS ARE SOME OF THE BEST TO DATE. I AM LEARNING SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY AND IT BECOMES MORE EXCITING EVERYTIME THAT I SIT I FRONT OF IT. THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT I HAVE AT THIS POINT IS FINDING TIME TO SPEND WITH MY WIFE. SHE CALLS MY TRITON MY MISTRESS. IF YOU ARE A TRUE MUSICIAN AND A HOME RECORDER LIKE ME AND YOU DON'T HAVE ONE YOU'RE MISSING OUT. THE TRITON IS THE BOMB, IN OTHERS WORDS THE HOTTEST BOARD ON THE PLANET.

The sounds are incredible. It is very easy to navigate because of the touch screen. Great arpeggios. May seem a little pricey, but I would recomend it to anyone. As far as sounds I think these are the best I have heard on any keyboard. The 16 track sequencer is great, although sometimes it might be nice to have more. (I personally haven't ever gone over 16 tracks) It is very easy to get started with and understand. Also it would be nice to have 128 polyphony instead of the 62 note polyphony which is not quite enough when you have 8 sounds layered. However, this is no reason not to buy the keyboard. I think Korg did an awesome job on this one. I give them my props

I LOVE this keyboard. No, it's not cheap. I got around paying for it by having my job buy one for me (I'm a school music teacher), and I won't play anything else if given a choice. The only drawback I have found is in the sound banks... a few sounds, such as the horns, are pretty cheesy, kinda thin. I'm sure this can be fixed with an add-on card, but it would be nice not to need it. Otherwise, the ability to edit sequences during playback without interrupting them is a major plus. Taking tempo out of the sequence mode and making it a control knob, allowing changes during sequence playback, adds to the ease-of-use. The touch screen is not new to Trinity users, but is really a terrific feature if you haven't upgraded since it was introduced. The interface is a tremendous improvement over earlier keyboards -- Korg simplified several actions that once took multiple steps, and improved the placement of certain functions to make access more logical. I personally own the old O1W-FD 61-key, and it took the Triton to
pry my fingers away from it. Go with the 76-key if possible, as 61 just never seemed to be enough on the O1W. I used this keyboard to write and orchestrate our spring shows last year, as well as lay tracks for all sorts of accompaniment needs and demos. I've barely scratched the surface of it's capabilities. I highly recommend this keyboard.

This is a monster. Everything you need to make great music wrapped
up in silver. The factory presets are mind blowing. The expandability is great.
The assignable real time knobs, ribbon controller and the arpeggios are great. Gives you total
control when playing live. Sequencer is a dream to work with.
I love the strings in Triton which I feel is the best in any synth.
Everyday I find something new in this board...worth all the money I spent.
It's all I need in a workstation and more. I'm glad to be a Tritonian!

I did a lot of research online and offline before deciding on Triton. Just hop in a music store near you and try listening to this silver beast...it speaks for itself..the sound is original. However, if you are looking for realistic analog sounds like piano, guitar etc the Triton base model lay not help you much..think the MOSS and PCM add ons will fix this. But for Synth sounds, Beats and effects..Triton is the King! It inspires you..only thing that'll limit you is your creativity! The possibilities are endless...

Since the 80's I'm playing synthesizers. I started with a DX7 from yamaha. In the 80's it was one of the best synthesizers. In the past years I have played on lot of keyboards and I still own other great keyboards like:
- Roland: XP80, JV90, XV-5080, RD600
- Yamaha: DX7 and the SY77
- Kurzweil: K2500
- KORG: 01W/fd, TRITON
If I compare my triton to the other keyboards I own (see list above) this is for me the best keyboard I'm using for serious production in my studio. The sound of the TRITON are warm and very realistic. Also it is very comfortable in use. (I can not say that a roland is comfortable in use). So if you want a synthesizer I advice to buy a TRITON.

I am using the Triton for more than a month and I am very pleased with it. Being an electronic/dance/hiphop producer not wanting to work on computers I especially like the on board sequencer with its groove features (arpeggiaror/pattern play/loop play) and the big touch screen display. The ability to expand the sound ROM and synthesis (MOSS board) as well as the sampler will give me fresh sounds for a long time.

The triton gets a 9 out 10 rating from me. The instruments, combinations, sampler, sequencer, all that good stuff is great. The ability to make your own combinations of instruments is even better. Effects are great. There is everything you need. The price tag is quite high, but u got everything u need to make music, except for a MPC2000 if u want real good drum options, cuz the triton has that only drawback, and its the drums, but it also depends for what kind of music you need it for.
Overall, who ever can afford it or pay it off (no interest ofcourse) take advantage.

This is a fantastic board. I use it to compliment my rig (K2500, Trinity, MS2000). The sounds are very full, and in the traditional Korg 'style'. It is a very easy to use board. The sequencer is reminescent of the ESQ by Ensoniq. Buy this puppy!!
