"The Pico Valve has tremendous potential. I can hardly wait to try a more expensive power tube in it. I heard it played online us"

I like to jam on this amp all day long on and off while I sit at my computer and write. I would deeply miss its sound if I lost it and would re-buy it again. Its got sound like a high-performance street machine.
Sound
I love it. It is like an advanced overdrive foot pedal. It cranks out really nice sound. I own a Marshall Class 5 as well that I love. The Pico Valve is very addictive. If you want nice sounding overdrive (I also own a Blue Driver that I use for my Marshall) the Pico Valve amp has a lot of settings to use for it. I play it through humbuckers and single coil pick ups. I also run the amp through my 4 x 12 cab so the sounds I am getting are the best. I can hardly wait to try other tubes in it. It is made by THD and their other amps are very expensive.
Features
The overdrive.
Ease of Use
Just like any good amp or good effects pedal, the longer you own it the more familiar you get with it and the easier it is to find the sound you want.
Quality
So far it seems like a well-built unit. I love the looks of it.
Value
The price is equal to or cheaper if you compare it to buying a top-of-the-line boutique overdrive effects pedal.
Manufacturer Support
No, haven't needed to yet. Most companies are too busy manufacturing anyways. Good service should come through a dealer I believe.
The Wow Factor
I rate it high if you look at the amp for what it is - great overdrive. If you look at it as your 'main amp' you will be disappointed. If you want a general do-all amp, go for something that sounds really clean and build on that with some foot pedals. The Pico Valve stands in a class all its own. THD knows what they are doing.

Musical Background:

Just got back into it. I play guitar, I jam at home. I want to get some electronic drums and a keyboard as well.

"Good Service, Bad Product."

This product provides a strident high-gain noise without any power whatever behind it. It sounds terrible. In a side-by-side comparison with a Vox 4 watt mini ( both using the excellent 12-inch Eminence Jet City speakers), the Picovalve could not provide as much sound pressure (volume). The little Vox, in addition, has an excellent high-gain sound whereas the Picovalve sounds like what it is, a poorly-designed vocational school apparatus constructed when the teacher left the room. And the manufacturer steadfastly refuses to answer the question "How do you get a 6L6 17 watt tube in Class A operation (check the RCA Tube Manual) to provide only an advertised 5 watts and actually bias it to provide less volume than a 6BQ5 (EL84)? I am ticked off, especially since ZZounds hooked me for $26 return shipping & insurance whereas Musician's Friend is free.

Musical Background:

60 years on the guitar. I can play Wildwood Flower in a saloon.

Musical Style:

Beer-drinking redneck music.

"Don't Buy This"

Overall: 2 out of 5 stars

I bought this simultaneously with a VHT Special 6. This amp is total distortion, and can only produce very low volumes in comparison to other 5-waters. Unless you only play heavey metal at low volumes, this amp will be a disappointment.
