Feature:
Four button footswitch (boost-channel-midshift-reverb) with very bright leds, plus long cord. I got mine with an extension cab that is unnecessary but looks really cool. (unnecessary because this amp is loud enough already.) Knobs are well marked and easy enough to use.
Quality:
The covering SEEMS pretty weak. I say seems because I haven't yet put any scratches in it, but it just looks as though the nagahide whatever covering will tear and scuff really easily. Otherwise as solid as a rock. UPS beat mine up in shipping quite a bit, but everything withstood, except one of the side handles on the extension cab: it got a crack in the back which doesn't prevent it from being used, just looks stupid.
Value:
I got mine at a sale discount of about 250 bucks, but i would gladly pay the full price for another one.
Desirability:
It is a black box. The size makes me pee my pants.
Sound:
This amp is incredible. No gimicks, no frills, just good sound. Versatile and LOUD.
The clean channel at it's cleanest sounds very similar to my old 69 Fender Princeton, and when you push it with higher gain, it emits tones akin to my Ibanez Tubescreamer (the old puke green one). But this amp was made to have an original sound, and that it does. The parameters are responsive; a small change in bass mid or treble and the difference is clear.
The dirty channel is where this amp becomes really amusing. Fat fat fat distortion. The range of tones is limitless, especially with the mid-shift, which allows a dramatic drop in mid frequency tones.
Last, my favorite, the boost button. It allows you to double your volume on the fly. Sort of like "turning it up to eleven."
I blew away my band the first time we practiced with my TB100. They couldn't believe how good I sounded.
The reverb is weak. For adding some flavor, it is perfect, but if you are an oldies die-hard and just love that drowning in an ampitheater sound, well, this might leave you cold.
Support:
dunno. haven't dealt with them yet.
Overall:
If ever this amp goes sour, I will get it repaired. If repair isn't possible, I will buy a new one. If Ibanez doesn't make them anymore at that point, I will search for a used one. But I bet this amp outlives the rest of my gear.
