This is a GREAT volume pedal. It gets some bad reviews for tone loss. I know a lot of people send these off to be modded and I was planning to do that. If you run your overdrive before the volume, you should not experience this "tone loss" so many others speak of. Personally I don't hear ANY tone loss or problems and it works great for what I do. I am primarily an acoustic Americana singer/songwriter, but I also play worship guitar and needed a volume pedal for ambient swells/Daniel Lanois type stuff. This volume pedal is one of the best sellers for good reason....it's GREAT!!!!
