Feature:
It's nice that the connection between the card and box is a standard Ethernet cable, therefore easily replaced. You could also extend the range of the cable if the included one isn't long enough for your needs.

Quality:
Great construction. My apartment caught on fire and the entire roof, along with gallons of water from the fire department fell on top of this thing. I picked it out from under a pile of wet, charred shingles and almost put it back down thinking it was toast. Later I took the unit apart and was suprised to discover no water or soot got inside of it. It is still functioning flawlessly.

Value:
Great value. I coupled this unit with a Behringer ADA8000, together the price ($730) was still under comparable units offering the same or less number of inputs and outputs.

Support:
Great customer support by phone. However, be advised: If you lose the installation CD you CANNOT download the drivers from the E-mu website. You must call (2 minutes was all it took) and they will send you a new CD for free. This is lame, considering you can't use the drivers or effects without the unit itself, so I don't see why they don't offer them for download. At least they don't charge you for a new CD.

Feature:
All you could want or need to record the entire band, and then some...+dsp effects on board...Cmon man

Quality:
Tough enough for off-road! Except for the pcmcia card (little flimsy)

Value:
Think about it....Superior Mic pre's (better than protools hd 192!)Superior Ad/DA convertors, flexible routing, onboard Programmable DSP effects (lynx,rme) with new patches available for download)and every interface you can imagine +32 channel midi...Cmon...for 499?...no man really...this is some kind of joke, right?

Desirability:
Ok...i'm on stage...with a boss pas system, an Acer convertable tablet pc in slate mode and the emu 1616m with guitar, and condensor mike...that's it. Whole thing flys with me in a luggage bag that weighs less than 50lbs all over the US. Compact, versatile, total coolness (tablet helps),hightech, but most of all, the sound of a God!

Sound:
Man, this thing is soooo sweeettt! Better mic pre's than the 1820m and handles the red beautifully :) Truly one the best sounding interfaces iv'e worked with...makes my lousy 100$ condensor sound like a high end Neumann...just try it! Rich, warm, yet still transparent.

Support:
Haven't had too...luckily too from what i read on the forums. So thanks Emu for actually preparing this package and drivers before releasing it. Knock on wood....

Overall:
I score higher if i could..a 15 considering the price point alone with dsp as well...i plan on using this for many years to come...

Feature:
Awesome features, much power. But you know what they say, with much power comes great responsibility. You will need to take time with this unit, to grasp all features.

Can't get better at this price range...........

I've been recording for over 10 years and leaned that sound quality cannot be faken!! EMU has taken this concept truthly. Can't get better with this price range.

Feature:
It his 2 XLR with good preamps, you can pretty much connect anything you want. You get a soundcard which deals with native VST's in a very very smooth way. The fast EDI cable to the E-MU microdock deals with latency.

Quality:
The quality of this product is amazing. As for playback and recording, you won't be needing a higher quality than this! Build like a tank. The only thing it's missing are L/R XLR outs.

Value:
Sirously the best bang for the buck.

Desirability:
I tried many other devices, including the 003 RACK. This thing got me homesick... love it !

Sound:
The recording and playback sound is amazing. Above that, Zero latency ( or not noticeable ), unlike other devices.

Ease of Use:
Much like any other gear, you need to learn how to operate the 1616m. Once you know how to operate the E-MU 1616m, it's very easy and fun to use.

Support:
Never need it.

Overall:
Like I said, the best bang for the buck. I would buy the whole thing all over again if it got stolen, as a matter of fact, they will be shipping the 1616m PCI-e version this spring :) I buy it !

Quality:
The PCM Card is cheaply built but the 1616m breakout box is made to withstand the all the stresses of traveling. ~ RJ 45 cables are available everywhere
