I've been using Logic 5 on the Mac for a few weeks and it's been a dream. No stability problems, moving from 4.8 to 5 was seamless. The new features and plug-ins are really great.

The revamped automation system rocks. It's easy to use, and very powerful.

I haven't gotten to all of the new plug-ins yet, but the 3 new synths are good, especially the ESM mono synth (good for bass). The stereo-spreader is superb. I found the phase distortion plug immediately useful, along with the tremolo.

The only problems I've had are figuring out how to copy automation events and paste them to other tracks or parameters.

Performance is roughly equal to 4.8, but apprently there's a good deal of optimization (for AltiVec ) coming in the next version which should enhance performance even more.
