""The best amp I've ever owned""

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

If someone stole this I would immediately buy another. From Zzounds. free delivery, rock-bottom prices. My criteria were: Tone quality, loudness, portability, durability. I am blown away by the first 3 and have no experience with the 4th. Price was not a consideration but this was the least expensive of the line-up and I figured I'd try it out and return it if there were a problem. There isn't.
Sound
I bought this amp as a more portable alternative to my JCM800. It weighs just a little over 1/3 what the Marshall weighs, and I had a VHT cabinet that I'm using with it. I like tones from Cream bluesy, Hendrix-y, and a saturated Van-Halen "brown" through to a Metallica tone. I occasionally use a warm jazz tone and from time to time I play stuff that needs a "neutral" tone for effect processing. This amp does it all, without a lot of fiddling around. I had concerns that this amp wouldn't be able to deliver the tone and hoped only that it would be loud enough for rehearsal, since I usually carry my gear to and from. This amp is LOUD. Really loud. I'm replacing my Marshall for gigs! I have had it for two months and I still find things I can do that I hadn't discovered. I usually dial the tube knob to the middle, turn the volume all the way up and bring the tones up to the desired volume level. I back down on the volume for mellower tones. Turning the tube selector over 5881 does about what one would expect, and convers.
Features
I don't care too much about this, and appreciate my Marshall's "two channels, one input" feature. There are some fancy features, like a record out and a few other things that I'm sure are really great if you need them, but SO far I haven't had the occasion.
Ease of Use
Plug in, twiddle dials. There is an instruction manual I'm told, although I can't really imagine what for...
Quality
Perfect. It looks just as good as the hand-built-in-America VHT cabinet it's sitting on. Came with a nice padded travel bag that has a zipper compartment for cords. Sweet! I plan to use this amp for everything. I have a Fender Prosonic I used to use for folk and blues stuff and my Marshall--I'll probably sell one or both of those because I really don't have enough room for 3 amps, and the Egnateris really working for me.
Value
This cost about half of what I would have gladly paid for it. If I were a young player going on tour in a van who was trying to decide what to buy, there would be NO question that this would be it. 23 pounds! Get a 1x12 cabinet and carry your gear in one trip! Go up and down stairs! Refuse to assist the lazy-ass drummer who never reciprocates in break-down!
Manufacturer Support
I'm giving this a 10 because I haven't had a single issue. which is the best outcome in my opinion, but things could change, I suppose...
The Wow Factor
I was on the fence about this--I was seriously considering getting a VHT or some other expensive boutique amp. I'm sure this won't last, but right now one of the great things about this amp is no one has seen one before, and it looks really retro and cool at the same time. And it sounds totally wicked.

I expect this amp to preform nicely for a long time.. I will change tubes when necessary...
Sound
OMG...I was toying with the idea of trying to get an expensive boutique amp (like a divided by 13 or similar), but ended up trying this out instead, and boy am I glad i did. I love the sound and flexibility in the sound with this amp. played it for the first time at a practice a few weeks ago...thru a 212 marshall cab that i put celestions into... and it did excellent. clean channel works very well with pedals...
Features
features, I guess, would be like the amazing amount of control one has over this amp. volume, treble, bass, overdrive, amount of wattage, dialing in the tube sound one way or another... (UK vs American or blend of both). I could not be more pleased or impressed.
Ease of Use
This amp, to me, is very intuitive. you don't need a Harvard degree to figure things out... just take a an hour one day, and just noodle with all the different settings... it is really difficult to find a bad sound on this amp...
Quality
Quality seems solid so far... I really feel good about this product...
Value
Very good value for the money, considering the multiple thousands you can spend on a boutique amp...
Manufacturer Support
have not had to use it yet...I hope it's good!
The Wow Factor
this is a funky and rockin' amp.. the Egnater emblem is really a riot...a little cheesy, but in the end, this amp ROCKS...so... so what about the emblem? :)

"Better than Super Sonic 22."

I could not find an amp that had the organic sound and variables I was searching for. But I also couldn't spend a fortune to get it either. I have traded or sold every amp that I have brought home - so far. I have kept the Fender Deluxe Reverb that i attach all my pedals to because it has no real distortion of it's own and the Egnater Rebel 30 doesn't need pedals (basically). So - one month ago I purchased a Fender Super Sonic 22 - I thought this would be my last amp - loved it - really good amp. Today I took the 22 back to Sam Ash for a full refund, why? Because of this Egnater Rebel 30 head and Egnater 1x12 cab. I tried as hard as I could to justify keeping the 22 - just could not do it. The Egnater just plain sounds better in every way. Before I purchased the Egnater Rebel 30 from ZZounds, I read every review I could find. Often people said "every setting sounds good in some way". Sounded hard to believe - but it's true! I don't even want new guitars anymore - this amp makes them sound so good. I rarely write reviews, but I have to let you know about this amp. Now i can stop looking - I found it and I could afford it. BTW, amp and cabinet showed up in perfect shape and quickly from ZZounds. This was my first purchase from them. Will give it a try again sometime.
Sound
It has the tone I have been looking for.
Features
Has all the things I need, without making me crazy.
Ease of Use
Quick to use, really like the standby switch setup on the front panel.
Quality
So far perfect, will know more on this later this year.
Value
Dollar wise, best value.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't needed them yet and that's how I like it.
The Wow Factor
Now my main amp.

Sound
Accurate and powerful- wasn't sure what I was getting into when I ordered it- but, i've had several guitarists play through, and also recorded via the amp modeling out with great success. I'd definitely recommend.
