I bought a set of 151`s about 6months ago
and come close to one of the best turntables
ive ever used

they out do 1200`s in many areas
exelent start up torque,
digital outputs <- these rock for studio work
very light to use - takes a little getting used to

the only fall backs
are the plastic feet and power switch
they are a little bit flimsy
and the 1200`s would probly be better suited to giging

I'm really impressed. It has the best features for the money -- including advanced features not found on Thorens 3-dpeed units, nor on what used to be the DJ standard, Technics. That is doing something! This is the, "New Standard", quite honestly, in my opinion (I've owned both Thorens and Technics, and I'm known as a really fair person. I own a Sony ES component stereo system. I used to own McIntosh components; and before that, in the 1960's, Marantz.)

The digital outputs and analog line output which allows direct connection to almost any recording device as well as powered speakers makes it unique. And the time stretch which allows vocals to maintain correct pitch while altering the music pitch is amazing. Also the range of pitch control is wider than most.

power supply fried after 3 hours of play time. boo!!!!! torque is good, but platter is too light; plastic cabinet doesn't resist bumps too well; too much rumble. easy to see why these things are selling at %60 of retail.
