Quality:
Very well made, metal and solid. Can take a lot of punishment, and mine has. I often throw it in the bag. I don't feel afraid of breaking it at all because it's so solid.
Value:
Absolutely. It's a great little mixer and cheap as hell. I've seen mixers twice the price that sound half as good. It's not going to compare with a Tascam 10 channel but you can produce useable professional quality mixes for television. I'd still advice kicking in another preamp on top of it.
Desirability:
It's practical, small and looks nice.
Sound:
A decent mixer for field recording and loud instrumentals. For more delicate recordings (piano and voiceovers) it's pretty hissy. Use another preamp so it's nice and loud, the preamps on this thing are pretty noisy.
Support:
I haven't had any problems with it. Very solid.
Overall:
A while. :D I'm going to have to replace it soon though. Skycron.com is moving into more complicated sound design projects and frankly the preamps are just too noisy for delicate sound design work where patches of silence will be heard. If it's loud music involving brass or rock, you won't hear the hiss, but if it's someone talking for a voiceover, you can definitely hear it.
