Feature:
The feature that I find most useful is the Ultrabass subharmonics processor. It gives another dimension to my sub-contra 8 string bass as far as deeper, louder and clarity of low notes (low C#) that can tend to sound muddy at loud volume. I wish however that it had included a tube section, but for the price, you can't beat it. Thats why they make tube pre-amps for.
Quality:
The unit is very well made. It is as well made as any of the major brands costing hundreds more. My only gripe is the built in wheels. They do function but seem slugish for the weight of the unit. Needs bigger wheels. I may put bigger ones that will make it easier to roll around (this amp is heavy).
Value:
This amp is worth every penny I spent on it and then some. I was actually planing on spending substantially more for a combo amp, but for what this comes with and the wattage you just can't get more bang for your money anywhere. I am very pleased with my investment.
Desirability:
Pictures don't do it any justice. It really is a good looking piece of machinery and exsumes quality. I've been a bassist for almost 30 years so I've played on and seen many different bass amps out there. I was a little skeptical about buying this amp due to "you get what you pay for". I firmly believe this but this amp is the exception to the rule. My brother-in-law is also a long time musician ownes an Eden Metro DC-210XLT Combo. He was thoroughly impressed with how the BX4210A is made and sounds. The amp is not an Eden by any means, but it does not cost upwards of $1400 either. Still it can hold its own to the Eden in repect to build and power.
Sound:
The sound of this amp no matter weather you are running an active or passive bass through it, is awesome. It's loud but tight. I haven't had any problems blowing the speakers. I have had the amp for almost 8 months and have played on it continually for that duaration at high volume levels. Again, no problems, and it does crank!
Ease of Use:
The amp is straight foward and easy to set up. Shouldn't take more than a few minutes to dial up the sound you want with this baby!
Support:
I've only had to call Behringer once before I bought the amp to ask about the issue others were having with blowing speakers. They told me that they had not received too many complaints, but that Behringer had resolved the problem regarding the crossover network and that at the time I bought mine, that I should not have any problems. They did say however if I did, the warranty would cover it.
Overall:
I plan to play on this product until it quits. I however plan to buy an Eden as more funds come available. I think having both would complement each other in that I will have a choice of either depending on the venue.
