Behringer BG412S Stack Customer Review

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
This review has been selected by our experts as particularly helpful.
BUY IT!!!!
Sound
I plugged my 100 Watt Marshall Valvestate Head in to it and it sounds better than my Marshall AVT412 cabinet. It sounds brighter, louder and crisper. The bass response is fantastic. I was really blown away, I was hoping that it wouldn't sound to bad next to my Marshall cabinet and it sounds better. The Marshall cabinet was over $600 and is a good sounding cabinet but the Behringer is better.
Features
It is an all around great cabinet. It looks great and is very functional.
Ease of Use
No problems.
Quality
None that I know of.
Value
Awesome value!!! I am very impressed.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't had to use them.
The Wow Factor
It looks good and sounds better. My friends look at the Marshall cabinet but when they hear this one they can't believe it.

"Behringer BG412S Ultrastack!!! Built like an anvil, sounds like the Sirens!!!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
I would buy this cabinet again and again and again!!! I lucked out and got the last one available from the store I got mine from.
Sound
The sound quality of these cabs is fantastic. Right now, mine is sitting 5 feet away from a $1400 Krank Rev 480W 4x12 and the Behringer cab sounds superior. Better, tighter bass, cleaner highs, fuller mids. The Behringer cab gives you the actual sound that your amp is putting out, or your amp and effects, which ever the case may be. The speakers are like a blank slate and deliver very accurate tones to what the amps and effects were meant to sound like. In 25 years of hearing different guitar cabs with various rigs, this one sounds better than speaker cabs costing 5x the price. The Jensen/Bugera speakers are excellent!!!
Features
I like the fact that it runs at 8 ohms in either mono or stereo. It can be connected with virtually any amp you can think of without any problems. If you can only run one connection from your amp, you just have to switch the Mono/Stereo switch on the back of the cab to Mono and all four speakers play with an even output and the cab runs at 8ohms so you don't lose all of your power/volume. I keep seeing people complain about the casters. C'mon folks. Use a little common sense and some silicone spray lube, like the king you would use on an airsoft gun. A couple of squirts of this stuff at every point where the casters turn or rotate and they will work as smooth as silk. You will have NO PROBLEMS with them. I did this and mine roll wonderfully, even on thick carpet. This is an extremely well designed speaker cabinet. Extremely heavy and solidly built. I others are built like tanks, then this one is built like an ANVIL!!!!
Ease of Use
Super easy to get great sounds!!! We even hooked up a Peavey Microbass 20W bass amp plus a Metal Muff to this cab and were able to get fantastic metal tones from it. You could forget about getting any clean tones with this setup, but with a proper amp you will get beautiful searing, clean highs. This cabinet sounds great whether you're playing nice clean tones to downright raunchy rock tones or skull splitting, mid scooped metal tones. It does whatever you want it to and it does it well.
Quality
Like I said, BUILT LIKE AN ANVIL!!!!
Value
This cab is the best value that you will find anywhere for a 4x12 guitar speaker cabinet.
Manufacturer Support
Haven't used them personally but have heard good things.
The Wow Factor
Looks fantastic!!! I would like a straight model to set under my slant cab.

"Blows away the competition!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
No question about it, this is an amazing value. Everything about this cabinet has treated me almost perfectly. Nothing's perfect - that's the reason for "almost."
Sound
I bought this cabinet in April 2005 with low expectations based on the price. It's now October of 2008, and after this cabinet has done HUNDREDS of live shows, has been ram rodded by all kinds of head units and been on the road, I have to say that it's AMAZING. I have owned Fender, Mesa, Peavey and Laney cabinets and this one blows every one of them out of the water in terms of sound quality and stable volume. The one I have is Jensen-equipped and it will eat my Laney H/H equipped stereo 4X12 for breakfast.
Features
Simple stereo/mono switching, sturdy output jacks and a great sound. The factory castors suck, but that's easily fixed with a trip to the hardware store.
Ease of Use
Plug and play. How much easier does it get?
Quality
As I said, this cabinet has been ram rodded by all sorts of head units and has been loaded/unloaded HUNDREDS of times. It's built stronger than any other cabinet I've owned. Please take note of the brands I mentioned above. It's a TANK!
Value
Price to quality ratio is 10 out of 10 for sure. This cabinet exceeds the performance of my $899 Laney cabinet.
Manufacturer Support
I have not needed support.
The Wow Factor
It's built rugged and looks great. I especially love the angles that the top two speakers are mounted. Sexy!

"BG412x's Just Rock-plain and simple"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)

I'll never use another cab. If I fry one of these, I'll fix it myself and continue using it.
Sound
I use both cabs in a stack configuration set to 16 ohms and cabled to play at 8 ohms together. The sound is warm and loud, is just as good for clean as it is for drive, and makes solid state sound like tube. My bottom cab sounds slightly cleaner (a bit more shrill) than the slant cab, but that one came with the Jensen speakers. No idea why it did, I didn't order the one with Jensens. But together it just makes the total sound more pleasing.
Features
I see no limitations to the features on the cab. You can set it for mono at 16 ohms, or stereo at double 8's.
Quality
Fantastic quality. And yes, the casters freeze up after a while. I just removed them, cleaned them, and oiled them, and they're good as new now. I'd call that normal maintenance and no reason for the quality rating to suffer for it.
Value
I got mine for 200 bucks each and free shipping. (company was running a special) How can you go wrong?
Manufacturer Support
Never needed service . . . so I don't know.
The Wow Factor
Oh yeah. This thing looks and sounds awesome. I can't wait to play out with it.

Best bargain out there for a speaker cab capale of handling high watt amplification
Sound
Sounds great, chose this over Marshall and glad I did. I play a JCM 2000 100 watt thru it, no problem.........
Features
4 x 12' Jensons and stereo capability. Coasters are weak but the work ok
Quality
Its a tank
Value
I pad 229 usd vs 600 for a Marshall I was looking at.

"I've used them all and love the Jensen packed Behringer 4X12 slant cabinet"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Verified Customer zZounds has verified that this reviewer made a purchase from us.
Sound
I have played through many 4X12" speaker cabs including Marshall, B52, Crate etc. and absouloutly love the sound I get with the Behringer that comes equipped with JENSEN speakers. They only have the slant cab that comes this way (WITH JENSENS), which is sad because I wanted to get the matching bottom straight cab.
Features
As I mentioned, I love the JENSEN speakers in the Behringer slant cab. I also should point out the cabinet is a stereo cab with the top two speakers angled away from each other to enhance the stereo effect. I also use the cab in mono with just a flick of the switch located on the back of the cab.
Quality
Stronger than a Marshall cab and a bit more weight to handle low notes. Comes with honey comb strong metal grill to protect speakers and looks smart.
Value
Great cabinet and it just happens to be inexpensive. I might buy a second cabinet to keep one at home and the other at rehearsal space.
Manufacturer Support
I have not had to deal with support issues as I have had no troubles.
The Wow Factor
It looks great!!

Sound
Anyone who said this cabinet sounds terrible is either deaf or they bought one that had broken speakers. I'd put this cabinet up against ANY Marshall on the market. It's just as good, if not better. Instead of spending $600+ on a Marshall cabinet becuase of the name, buy one of these. You will not be disappointed.
Quality
Very solid, very well made.
Value
Absolutely the best value on the market.
Manufacturer Support
Never used support.
The Wow Factor
I plan on buying a second one in the near future.

Sound
Whats your favorite colour? mines blue! but yours might be red! so is red better than blue? not in my eyes! get my drift, lots of people rave over these cabs, and some hate them, we all have different opinions of how the end sound should be, ask any audiophile, who spend thousands on tweaking there system for that goal of a perfect sound, Mmm to him only though, his mate walks in the room and cant see where he's coming from, everyones ears are different (fact). What i will say is you wont find better value for money anywhere, these cabs are rock solid, wait till you lift one, no cheap quality here, to be honest i dont know how they can make them at this price. Mine is the older version, with genuine Jenson speakers, and i can not fault the sound, clean neutral, plenty of bottom end and sweet mid and highs, got to say better than any marshall, and maybe if people play on these and say they sound crap, then maybe its just the case of there playing, ie: crap in crap out simple as that. i paid 70 pound for mine second hand, i would never ever part with it. but hey thats my opinion, and my favorite colour is blue.

I will probably use these forever. I can't get enough of these cabs. They are unbelievably durable.
Sound
Brutal sound yet, can be totally clean and clear. Great for Metal and Hardcore. Sounds good for recording as well but expecially great for live sound. Blows away every other cab I've player with. I mean it! Marshall has nothing on this thing.
Features
Nice! Can go stereo! The wheels aren't to great. They stick after a while.
Quality
I beat this thing up with road use. This thing can handle a lot.
Value
Blows my mind how amazing these sound for the price. Can't believe it.
Manufacturer Support
Never had to call. I heard they have terrible support but of well. Think of how reliable the product is. If it breaks, oh well. You can have three of these for one good Marshall and these are better...
The Wow Factor

"Look no further... Its right in front of you!"

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars
(see rating details)
Overall I think it would beet a marshall in every catagory... as with pretty much any cab... Expecialy the price... If you sereously think that your gonna find a better deal your mistaken. You might as well take up crack smoking and waste your money, cuz thats what you will be doing if you buy a diffrent 4x12... Oh and I preticularly like the comment about the JCM 2000 DSL sounding bad... concitering that is a 100watt tube amp trying to power a 400watt cab (not that you need 400watts to make it sound good, but tube amps dont seem to have as much power as they are rated)... ya ill leave it at that...
Sound
Simply Unbeleveable, I bought a Behringer V-Ampire combo amp and looked at the back and saw 4x12" cab simulation plugins... Wondering what they were for I looked it up. After reading these reviews I decided it must be decent. No suprize it sounded amazing! I would start a fight with someone if I ever heard them talk crap about Behringer, its just that good.
Features
... 10, Everything is perfect wheels are no problem (that iv read other ppl have problems with?) Handle is fine... Stereo/Mono switch easy as pie... Overall Features of this amp are amazing...
Quality
Ok, maybe the wheels could be better?... they dont need to be... but they could be I guess? maybe the Handle could be made outta Metal? Maybe it could float on air and you could just guide it to where you want it to be? I donno why people are saying parts are crappy on it... Its like 300 bucks I would expect less, alot less.. but not from Behringer...
Value
ok... iv alreaddy talked about this... 300 bucks... could sell it for 1000 and I would buy it (if I had that much money at the time)
Manufacturer Support
Again Behringer gets it done... I havent needed to ask them questions but if I do it will be "Why havent you raised your prices?" and they would respond Why is Marshell so expencive?... yea answer a question with a question but what else can they say?...
The Wow Factor
Well seeing as im in love with Behringer I basicly bought it to hump when im bored... Its just that attractive to me...haha

it is awesome. back in march we did a gig at a local club. after the show us and another band went behind the curtain and asked the audience to vote for which sound was the best. Our band was equipped with Behringers, and the other band with Marshalls. The audeince roared for ours, then when some people saw after which were which, they were shocked.

I expect this monster to last for a while. My next big gear purchase will probably be another one or the straight up model to go underneath this one. I certainly hope it doesn't die anytime soon, cause I don't want to have to move it again.
Sound
It puts out, no doubt. This thing will shake the walls. Nice, well-rounded tone under my PMP2000.
Features
Easily transition from stereo to mono; can chain cabs. Other than that, it's a 4x12.
Ease of Use
1. Get some large friends to help you move it. 2. Plug in 3. STEP AWAY from the speaker cab! 4. Jam.
Quality
It's a Behringer, so it's not the top shelf product you can find in some other brands. However, it is a SOLID value, sounds great, is very well made, and the Jensen speakers absolutely meet the quality of any competitor and exceeds the quality of many. IMHO, you cannot obtain better quality at the price and would have to considerably exceed this price point to buy a better product.
Value
Unquestionably the best value in this price range.
Manufacturer Support
Never needed them; never called them.
The Wow Factor
It looks GREAT. You definitely get that WOW! response from someone when they see it. (It happens again when they hear it)

if somthing ever happend to this cabinet id look for one with the same value but also availability.the thing that i liked most about the cabinet is that as soon as i got it home i tested it at maximum volume level with a very powerfull amp head and its sound was clear and concise.ive never had that before off one cabinet.
Sound
impressive clear sound at balls out level.but i need at least two years with this cabinet to realize the full capabilitys that are within.
Features
bought this one off the floor it was an amp everyone was testing guitars and basses through.they all told me how impressed they were with it.
Quality
even though it was the stores demo it must have held up well cause it looks mint especially with that triple xxx amp on top.people that come over to jam will definatley be in awe!!!
Value
for my needs it was an excellent value.it looks good, sounds good, at half the price of what i thought id have to pay.
Manufacturer Support
not worried about it the music store i use is all the support i need.

Don't waste your money on "names", what counts is your sound, and this cab will NOT disappoint!!
Sound
I brought my amp down to the music store and plugged it into one of these. I could not believe the PROJECTION this Cab has!!! The sound literally filled the store. The transparency was amazing, I tried 3 different guitars and the characteristics of each guitar came through in the sound, it was unreal. I cranked the Bass and Treble on my amp , and the sound stayed warm and not muddy or brittle...I bought one right then
Features
I like the fact that the inputs/outputs are CLEARLY LABELED, and the accompanying instructions are clear and concise
Quality
comes with a 5 year warranty...and like all other behringer stuff..it does not disappoint!
Value
For the Money..you Can't do any better...plain and simple..it even sounds better than the JCM900 cab I used to own...marshall or not, the Behringer kicks its ass!
