I use two of these on the stero outputs of my
Roland VG-8ex. It makes the clear sounds much
better. The acoustic sounds are usable now!
It also makes the distortion sounds much more
tube like. It takes the "synthetic" transistor
sounding edge off. Nice, versatile and cheap
too. The OPL (which is only on the studio model)
is great, it acts like a powersoak allowing for
incredibly compressed tube sustain.

Feature:
At this price I did not expect a power supply to come with it - it did. There is also a 3 year manufacturers waranty with the unit which is unbelievable since most electronic equipment usually has a year warranty or less. You can tell this company is really trying to make a name for themselves. This is a quality unit at a fantastic price. I don't know what else they could improve on for this unit.

Quality:
Wow!!! When I ordered this I thought it was going to be in a plastic case. It is in a steel casing and built like a tank.

Value:
This unit is comparable to units costing $200.

Desirability:
This unit is pretty sexy with the retro style analogue meter.

Sound:
I purchase 2 of these units and use them in various formation. I have used them in line for analogue to digital transfer of vinyl records and cassettes for warming up analogue to digital transfers to my computer. I have also use it for a DI box to play my bass through. Also works well with guitar to give a warm rich sound. This also is great for a mic preamp and gives a very warm sound for vocal tracks. The ART Tube MP just blows me away especially for the $30 I paid for it. I think I will buy a couple of more at this price. The sound of this unit is unbelievable for the price. Clear, warm, and clean.

Ease of Use:
Plug and go.

Support:
Haven't had to use.

Overall:
This is studio quality equipment at an extremely cheap price and fits in well in the digital realm to warm up whatever you are recording.

Feature:
All essential are there: gain dial, VU, limiter (great!) and few extras: XLR and 1/4" inputs and outputs; metal case

Quality:
Professional feel. Metal case, solid and heavy.

Value:
By far best $30 I have ever spent on a peace of studio equipment (and I have spent $$$)

Desirability:
Sleek, elegant design with pro feel.

Sound:
Crisp, clear, yet smooth and rich. True tube preamp with a true tube preamp sound. I don't give high marks easily, but this baby can esily take on 20 times more expensive products in its class. Simply beautiful on acoustic guitar.

Ease of Use:
Simple to use; dial in gain, choose output level and off you go.

Support:
n/a

Overall:
I will be buying another one very soon for stereo applications. This is a keeper.

This thing makes everything sound warm and fat. I used it on vocals, guitar & bass. This is a must for any home studio that doesnt want to spend hundreds. I am amazed at how good this little unit works. Get one.

Feature:
Wish the 1/4" out was TRS

Quality:
Was much more solid than I thought it would be.

Value:
Can't go wrong at this price. If you don't like it for vocals or decide to upgrade it also sounds great as a bass DI.

Desirability:
If you are using a lower end board you want one or two of these. It will definatly help your sound.

Sound:
Sounds nice and warm and quiet. Will blow away any cheap built in pre.

Ease of Use:
Very straign forward. Just plug it in and use.

Support:
havn't used

Overall:
Plan on using for a long time. It just fits so many roles and is cheap enough where I don't mind using it live.

A nice piece of gear at a good price. I work a lot with acoustic guitar. Although I am happy with the sounds I get, I needed to take the edge off. I wanted more warmth, especially on fingerpicked tracks. This preamp was certainly the answer. It adds a silky, warmer tone to the guitar, and it also works great on keyboards and vocals too. Get it! You'll be happy you did...

If utilized properly, this is a nice little preamp for any home-recording studio... perfect for "first timers". It's also a great helper for live recordings.
