Feature:
Downloaded OS 1.21. Its seems pretty rock solid so far. I love using Chop Shop and Patch Phrase. Its also nice to use the FX on beats and recorded samples. I dont have the optional cd rw, but its cool without. The 128 ram expansion is a must, to load lots of programs and samples. I love those pads, they feel nice and tight. los of editing tools, and the zone feature of up to 4 samples is great for sound design, etc.

Quality:
To my suprise, the build quality is excellent. The 2500 has a nice weight to it, not a light weight by far. The panels are tightly closed, no rattling. The jacks are solid, and dont feel loose. I like the build over all. The click wheel is also nice over the standard mpc wheels. The click sound actually helps me with accurate dialing, especially with number work.

Value:
For serious percussion / sequencing, this machine is great. Its worth every penny spent.

Desirability:
Looks are the best part of this drum sampler. It looks very classy in black, and its compact enough to slide away under my desk tray. The screen looks cool, especially the silver 'mpc' logo on rear. The best looking mpc after the mpc 4000.

Sound:
Great sound from such a small box. Its clean as a whistle, and its sounds as good as what you put through. The headphone output is of good quality, very quiet and smooth sounding.

Ease of Use:
The machine is pretty easy to use once you get past the basic. The rest comes in time, once you explore the programming and editing features. Manual is well written.

Support:
Not bad, but not the same as the old day Akai.

Overall:
If anything goes wrong or its stolen, i would replace it in a heart beat without doubt.

Feature:
Its everything MPC and some. I like the chop shop and phrase sampling. The different quantize options are amazing, with note shifting, etc. The 'swing' on this machine is superb.

Quality:
Pretty well built, compact and looks very professional. Its got a nice tilt screen, and i like the clicky wheel. The pads feel great for programming drums.

Value:
For the money, you get what you pay for. Its solid, tight and delivers.

Desirability:
looks very slick on my desk next to my laptop. It blends in well with my other gear. Its beautifully designed ground up. The MPC logo on the back screen is a nice touch. The mpc 2500 looks like the mpc 3000le, but slimmer and slicker.

Sound:
What you put in, is what you get out. With the right drum samples, this thing sounds fat on the bottom and sweet on the top. Its a fairly punchy sound, with a nice thump on kicks. The sound is pretty focused, not muddy or lo fi like the old samplers.

Ease of Use:
Once you started playing with it, you get the hang of the main feature pretty quickly. Its a small learning curve.

Support:
I dont like Akai support, but who needs them.

Overall:
Great machine, excellent feel for drums, perfect for any studio.

Feature:
hot feat

Quality:
not happy ,,, could of put a better screen ,, cost the same as the fantom x6 and has a ugly screen, akai thinks we are in the 90s people are getting pissed of about this

Value:
not worth 2000 dollers ,,,,, with 2000 you can buy a mac mini, apple 20 screen, logic , a midi controller and have a studio,,,, this is y i think hardware will go down ecause they overprice things ,, and am a hardware fan ,, but it is true 2000 for a drum machine ,,,,,, now an days not worth it

Desirability:
had it sold it dont need it i use ex24 and ultrabeat

Sound:
if you put in good sounds you get good sounds

Support:
good

Overall:
nice but not good or great ,,,, there is a rumor that m-audio is working with robert liin in creating a drum machine ,,,,,, for about $1500 bo that i think will destroy akai big time and remmber i am an old akai fan ,,,,, i own the mpc60 mpc 3000 and the mpc 1000 i am telling you the truth its not worth it,,,, the feel you can now get pads
