Another model in the Arius line of digital pianos, the sleek and slim Yamaha Arius YDP-S31 Digital Home Piano is perfect for all skill levels and excels as a practice piano. The high-quality sound simulates an acoustic piano, while Graded Hammer Standard (GHS) keys help build proper finger technique.

When closed, the YDP-S31 takes up a small footprint and the soft-shut key cover creates a flat surface that resembles a desk, making it ideal for school piano labs. Don't be fooled by the compact design, because there's plenty of power under the hood. The model comes with 3 piano-style pedals, a 6W x 2 stereo sound system and Yamaha's legendary AWM piano samples.

The YDP-S31 utilizes Yamaha's sophisticated AWM (Advanced Wave Memory) Stereo Sampling for the instrumental voices, faithfully reproducing all of the dynamic details and sonic nuances of the original. A built-in song recorder and metronome that makes the YDP-S31 ideal for piano lessons, practicing, or even as a scratch pad for your next masterpiece.

50 specially selected piano songs of standard piano repertoire are built into each, either for your listening enjoyment, or as a rehearsal tool while playing out of the included 50 Greats for the Piano book. The damper pedal includes an authentic Half Damper effect, giving you nuanced expressive control over the sustained sound, far more realistic than a simple on/off footswitch.

Drawing on over a hundred years of experience and craftsmanship in making world class acoustic pianos, the YDP-S31 provides exceptionally natural, grand piano-like touch, with realistic weight gradations, heavy in the lower end and light in the upper.

With its soft-shut key cover and uniquely slim profile, the depth of the YDP-S31's sound far exceeds its 11.8 inch deep frame.

"Yamaha YDP S31 is Awesome"

Sound: Sounds is good, but it's not a real steinway grand. Feature: Features is kind of like the older model clainovas. This model includes enough for the digital piano to act like a piano, but not really a whole lot more. Get a synth if you want more. Ease of Use: AWESOMELY easy assembly! Other than that, use it like a regular piano. Quality: Yamaha Quality, hello? Near Perfect but not Steinway. Value: Best digital piano for under 1000 dollars. The Wow Factor: Sexy! By far the most sexy in its class. Overall: If you want to pay a thousand or less for a keyboard/piano without a lot of effects, then this is what you get.

Sound: Sound is very good. Feel is better. Great for students .. very dynamic. Feature: Comes with pedals that appear to operate well. Ease of Use: This piano is simple to use. Great for students. The metronome function is a little funny but other than that..very simple. Quality: This instrument is beautiful. Value: It is a little pricey but the sound quality and build quality "hopefully" will off set the cost long term. Manufacturer Support: Yamaha is wonderful. The Wow Factor: Not sure i have to assign sex to everything. But it is pretty. Overall: This instrument is well made..sounds great..loks great..and my kids are not afraid to play it. Not a lot of confusing buttons and screens...just a great digital piano.
