Product Description

The Yamaha YDD-40 makes portable digital drums available to more aspiring drummers. Four touch-sensitive pads plus the ability to add an optional foot pedal, 99 world percussion sounds and a large selection of accompaniments make playing along with other instruments fun and easy. An AUX input lets drummers plug in an MP3 player or an iPod(R) and play along with their favorite music.

Sound: For this product, I think that the sound is pretty good. It's hard to have top notch sound with a portable piece of equipment at this price. Feature: For learning purposes, I think this product has great features. It gives the learner the opportunity to hear/play different combinations of drums. The ability to plug in an iPod is a nice feature. Ease of Use: Pretty easy to use. Takes some getting used to which settings play which sounds - but all-in-all fairly easy. Quality: Appears to be of very good quality for a beginner intrument. Value: Competetive pricing and zzounds is willing to beat the competitor. Manufacturer Support: I had trouble with the headset that came with the unit. Support quickly offered to replace the headset (shipped next day), and pick up shipping for the returned/defective item. The Wow Factor: Practical for a compact item. If I could change the design, I would make the pads bigger. Overall: For purposes of getting the "idea" of drumming - this is a very good product. Kids have enjoyed experimenting with it...a lot.
