I've had issues for years trying to find what company had the best quality on 7 string under 1k. This is it. Ibanez has fret work problems. ESP looks nice but the ergonomics and head stick weight were not that great. Jackson is my favorite but this had better material, build and hardware than the similar models in the price range. The Buzz Feiten system is great too. Always stays in tune. The neck pickup is so tasty. The neckthru design makes it so easy to play a complete scale from B to E above the 15th fret. The 25.5 scale is comfortable and capable as long as you use the correct gauge of strings for your tuning(s). I'm so pleased. Not the prettiest but damn does it work great!
