zZounds is an
authorized Vox dealer

The DA15 and DA5 are ideal for a variety of musical styles. Their tones -- ranging from pristine clean, to outrageous overdrive, to chunking rhythm -- can be dialed up instantly. Eleven single and combination effects are built-in including auto wah, compressor, delay, reverb, flanger, phaser, chorus, tremolo and rotary plus noise reduction. Users have the ability to adjust the parameters of every effect and a Tap button allows easy set up of time or modulation speed effects.

The DA15 enables users to program and tweak their own combination of amp and effects settings and store them using the Channel Select mode. Two user program locations give instant access to the stored sounds. Manual mode (in which the sound heard is exactly what the knob settings indicate) provides immediate access to a 3rd sound. The optional VFS2 dual foot switch can be used to switch between the user programs (CH1, CH2) or to bypass the effects. Alternatively, it can be used to activate the Manual mode instead of Effect Bypass, for hands-free switching between three different sounds (two user programs and Manual setting). In addition to a VOX proprietary 8-inch, 8 Ohm speaker, a headphone/line output provides convenient connection to headphones or a recorder/mixer. This output adds cabinet tonality and character for a sense of 'air' and depth.

Sound: This thing sounds fantastic. I pitted this against the more expensive Valvetronix amps in VOX range of new stuff, and I actually decided I prefer the sound on this, even though it is solid state, not tube. The tube ones sounded a bit boxy and unnatural to my ears. This thing has perfect clean, dynamic blues overdrive, and downright nasty hi-gain sounds that you pretty much can just dial in with one knob. Feature: It's as compact as an amp can get and still have some punch to it. It pretty much covers all the tones you would need within sane reason, and it has a line out/headphones out, so you can use the amp sounds direct into a mixer. Perfect for recording and rehearsing. It also has quite useable effects models. I just wish it had more than 2 user slots for storing custom made sounds. Ease of Use: You come to grips with the controls instantaneously, and it's actually difficult to get unpleasing sounds out of this thing. This is exactly what "dialing in" a great tone should be. The ease of use on this was actually a major selling point for me on this amp, as opposed to purchasing the more complex Valvetronix amps that VOX makes. Not knocking those, they are great amps, but there is something to be said for being able to plug in, turn only one or two knobs and being able to get the exact tone and texture that you have in your mind. Quality: I think you would actually be hard pressed to damage this thing. Value: I got the exact sound(s) I wanted in a tough, compact amp with line out, effects, excellent ease of use, and it looks great... for $150. Crazy Overall: Extremely happy with this, one of the best values I've received on any type of gear in a long time.

Sound: I cant believe how much sound comes out of this thing. From clean to distorted this thing can do it all! Feature: It makes enough effects that you wont need to take a pedal with you! Ease of Use: Very straight forward, my 10 year old son had it programmed and figured out in 10 minutes! Quality: I take this thing all over the place and it hasnt failed me! I havent even managed to scratch it yet! Value: You cant get a better bang for your buck.... Manufacturer Support: Dont know never needed them! The Wow Factor: I like the "retro" look it has.......nice and simple. Overall: These things have made a believer out of me. I am going to go and buy two more for both of my sons.
