The THD 2-12 Extension Cabinet is the key to the magic between your fingers and your ears. Delivering a sound that is deep, smooth, clear, focused and sweet, this cabinet truly is a vital element for improving the tone chain.

The THD 2-12 Cabinet is a bass-reflex design cabinet with a slot-port in the rear instead of the more common tube port in the front. Unlike a tube-port, there is no chance of "whistling" through the slot-port in THD's cabinets. The slot-port being shallow, but wide, gives a lot of rear projection and a more open, 3-dimensional sound similar to an open back but with a dramatically fuller, tighter bottom end.

THD's Cabinets are constructed from 3/4 in. 9-ply birch with 1/2 in. birch ply baffle and rear panels. The corners are finger jointed for strength and rigidity and the speaker baffle is dadoed in to the sides to make for a remarkably strong and durable cabinet. To eliminate noise THD found in other handles, THD used steel inset handles that are remarkably strong and do not rattle. Other components of the cabinet such as Switchcraft jacks are utilized because they provide a better connection to your speaker plug and steel jack dishes because they cannot break or push through. Inside, the speakers are wired with Belden wire, an industry standard that is very high quality, sounds great and lasts a lifetime. Also featured on the cabinet's exterior are nickel-plated steel corners to deflect blows and large cast rubber feet that serve in reducing vibrations.

THD set out to design a full-sounding, lightweight 2-12 speaker cabinet that could rival a 4-12 in volume, power and projection. Sound: I can't say enough good things about this cabinet. Use it for studio work and I can go from "Voxy" to "Marshally" to sparkling and crispy "Fendery" even modern super saturated or Jazz-fusion sophisticated tones. In addition to that, the cabinet has a slightly open back which allows the low-end to breathe and allows the sound to have the body and punch of a 4x12 but the definition in the mids and the high end of a smaller cabinet. Feature: The construction is flawless, top notch craftsmanship, amazing tone-versatility. Ease of Use: Super-easy just plug and play. This cab will make a cheap amp sound totally awesome but if you have a nice boutique amp it will take you to a new tonal dimension. Quality: THD makes the finest guitar products. I have tried every piece of gear they make. The finish on the 2x12 cab is flawless, not one scratch, nice polished tolex, beautiful craftsmanship. This cab will last a lifetime. Value: I did quite a research on this guitar-cabinet buying topic and THD cabs are the best bang for the buck. First of all the are made in the US by a custom shop in Seattle Washington. The cab is also fitted with custom speakers MADE IN USA tuned to PERFECTION. You can't get this kind of quality for such a low price anymore. Even if you get a Bogner 2x12 from the custom shop or a 2x12 orange cabinet, which by the way are more expensive, they both have cheap stock chinese celestion vintage 30s. So the THD 2x12 was a no-brainer Manufacturer Support: No issues whatsoever. The Wow Factor: This cab is tone monster, you can make it growl or sing depending on the music you need to play. Super versatile. I Use it for studio work and I can go from "Voxy" to "Marshally" to sparkling and crispy "Fendery" even modern super saturated or Jazz-fusion sophisticated tones. In addition to that, the cabinet has a slightly open back which allows the low-end to breathe and allows the sound to have the body and punch of a 4x12 but the definition in the mids and the highs of a smaller cabinet. Very clever design. Overall: I can see myself getting more THD cabinets in the near future, I want to get the THD 4x12 also and I'm getting two more 2x12s for the road.

Sound: Exactly what I want out of a 2x12 cab. I actually have 2 of these cabs, to make 4x12 for larger venues (30 watt Budda head). Great low-end, yet very clear mids and highs Feature: I'm sure it could have more "stuff", but it has what I need. The speakers are excellent. Ease of Use: Very light - will fit in the front trunk of a Porsche Boxster. Quality: No issues. Value: Should be about $150 less... Manufacturer Support: Takes some time for them to answer emails. The Wow Factor: Looks great under my head. If your head is 26" wide or less it'll look really nice.
