Multi-Dimensional Tone in One Pedal
This awesome emulator pedal accurately imitates both the rotating lower speaker and the treble rotor horn -- an essential combination that brings in an undeniable complex whirlwind of rotary sonic force. You get the original tube power amp sound, the speaker and high frequency range horn, and you even get the microphone used to capture these sounds. All of the switches and control dials on this baddie allow you craft and shape the sonic color of your signal as it passes on to your amplifier.
Design Your Dream Rotary Speaker Emulation -- Down to the Mic Position
The Roto Choir's control setup is straightforward and easy to learn, but it gives you tons of control over your sound. Your level control dials in the overall volume level of your signal, and the high and low dials shape the tube amp emulation with wide-reaching EQ. Drive brings in the compression and harmonics effects, and the top speed dial determines the top speed of the rotation when you stomp on the Fast/Slow switch. The position dial moves where the emulated mic is in position with respect to the horns. You can also play around with the single speaker simulation and bi-amp switches to get some really interesting sounds from your axe.
Hands-Free Speed Control
On the bottom right of this pedal is a fast/slow footswitch. This feature allows you to you speed up or slow down the rotating speaker sound. You can also use this switch to stop the rotation entirely without ever needing your fingers to leave your axe's strings.
Your Roto Choir SansAmp Rotary Speaker emulation pedal is compact, lightweight, and pedalboard-friendly. You can continue to use this baby along with a whole host of other effects pedals without the worry of cramming too much hardware into your performance space -- a nice added bonus if you love loading your signal up with troves of effects and other sonic treats. There's even a stereo TRS output on this pedal, in case you'd like to feed stereo signal to your reverb and delay effects.
The Tech 21 Roto Choir recreates both the rotating lower speaker and the treble rotor horn --the only way to attain that complex, multi-dimensional tone. In fact, the Roto Choir utilizes a specifically formulated SansAmp technology to deliver the entire signal chain --from the original tube power amp to the speaker and high-frequency rotor horn, to the microphone used to capture it. This is HD, 3D emulation.
