"Taylor 414 - a truly remarkable guitar."

Feature:
no accessories, but the sitka spruce top and the gorgeous solid ovangkol back and sides give this guitar a unique warm, bright, luscious sound, which i expect to only improve as the instrument opens up.

Quality:
magnificent. not a single flaw I can think of.

Value:
definitely worth every single penny.

Desirability:
nothing fancy, no wild inlays, etc., but the beautiful wood and elegant construction are very appealing.

Sound:
warm and balanced. even volume and tone anywhere on the fretboard. hands down the best finger-picking guitar i've ever played

Support:
n/a

Overall:
i expect to hand this guitar down to my great grandchildren.

About This Product!
Description
Docs
Modest appointments and world-class tone make the 414 ideal accompaniment for any situation. With warm lows, balanced mids and highs, and that certain zing that is all ovangkol, these guitars are ideally suited for fingerstyle playing or medium strumming.

The quick, articulate response of Sitka spruce is combined with the warmth and sparkle of ovangkol, giving the 400 Series a tone reminiscent of rosewood, yet uniquely its own.

Grand Size
The Grand Auditorium combines the width and depth of a Dreadnought with a narrower waist. Its sleek design yields a strong treble zing across the tonal spectrum and sharpens the definition of individual notes. The Grand Auditorium is a strong fingerpicking guitar that also adapts well to medium strumming.

Fit & Finish
The finish used to create this guitar's textured satin back and sides and lustrous gloss top was developed at Taylor for maximum durability and resistance to cold-checking. This ultra violet-cured finish is also more environmentally friendly than traditional lacquer finishes. Available in natural finish.
