Taylor's 100 Series: Taylor Tone Starts Here

In the acoustic guitar world, everyone knows the Taylor name, and the 100 series brings you the quality you'd expect from the company Bob Taylor started almost fifty years ago. Each guitar in this series feature layered sapele and spruce bodies in dreadnought and Grand Auditorium shapes. These acoustic-electric guitars may be less expensive than Taylor's higher-numbered series, but their tone and playability is still impressive and addicting.

Dreadnought Sitka Spruce and Sapele Body

When you think of an acoustic guitar, the shape that always comes to mind is the dreadnought shape. Its large size and broad shoulders are recognized instantly, and by utilizing a spruce top, your 150e will have a nice aural crispiness to it to help your playing cut through the mix. Sapele, which originates from west Africa, is sometimes mistakenly referred to as African read more mahogany because of its visual resemblance to khaya -- the actual wood that's commercially named African mahogany. Sapele yields a sound similar to mahogany with plenty of lows and mids, but it also adds in a little treble to brighten things up.

Welcoming Sapele Neck with Ebony Fretboard

Like mahogany necks, sapele necks offer a decent helping of sustain. This is perfect for a 12-string guitar in a dreadnought shape -- you'll never be short on volume when you really strum your Taylor 150e hard and fast. The ebony fretboard is smooth and welcoming to your fingers, and every string on every fret harnesses an unbeatable action. You won't want to put your Taylor 150e down once you get your hands on it.

Taylor's acoustic-electric guitars are about great sound whether you're sitting around the campfire or plugged in at a show -- thanks to the powerful Taylor Expression System.
