Tascam DA78HR 24-Bit Modular Multitrack Recorder

This is a total-pro 8-track multi-track digital tape recorder. Nowadays, the trend swings toward hard-disk recording, but there's still a long way to go before all the benefits of tape are outweighed. This is a machine that you can build a serious project studio behind, or use as a tool in any pro studio.

This is a 24-bit machine, with built-in time code capabilities. The built-in digital mixer combined with the S/PDIF I/O ports lets you digitally transfer from DAT or CD for mixes, or for bouncing purposes. That same mixer allows you to mix down all 8 tracks into 2 tracks within the machine itself with no extra gear required.
