Cobra Pedal Housing New Iron Cobra pedals come equipped with nylon insulators for the bearing housings inside the pedal frame. The insulators keep the bearings centered in place and secured in the most stable position. This ensures proper bearing support for the drive shaft without unnecessary stress. The end result of these new improvements is the smoothest pedal action possible.
Speedo-Ring Tama eliminated another source of friction by replacing the traditional nylon rocker cam with the Speedo-Ring, a rocker cam with a high quality built-in ball bearing rocker.
Oiles Bearing Hinge Iron Cobra footboards feature the same Oiles bearings used in the aerospace industry, not only providing even smoother action and durability than ball bearings, but also increasing Iron Cobra's stability by eliminating the annoying side-to-side motion found in many pedals.
Spring Tight Twisting springs severely reduce pedal smoothness. Spring Tight, a clever half-moon shaped spring tension rod, keeps the spring from twisting so there's never any loss of power transmission.
Iron Cobra Beater The Iron Cobra beater adjusts the beater head angle to guarantee a flat hit to the bass drum head every time, translating your strike into maximum power. In addition, it's easy to obtain different bass drum sounds simply by changing the beater head.
Vari-Pitch Holder Vari-Pitch beater angle adjustments are completely independent of footboard angle. The Speedo-Ring allows you to adjust the angle of the footboard link independently of the beater angle. And with the combination of the Speedo-Ring and the Vari-Pitch, you can achieve any kind of stroke and also enjoy improved playability.
Para-Clamp II Para-Clamp keeps your pedal flat on the floor no matter what your bass drum angle. The Para-Clamp is tightened from the side so you never have to insert your finger under the footboard. And since you can clamp your pedal to hoops up to 14mm (9/16 in.) in thickness, Iron Cobra will fit just about any bass drum in the market.
Tight Lock Tight Lock makes sure the beater shaft stays put. Tight Lock fixes and locks the square head bolt which fixes the beater shaft.
Pedal Anchor To keep left-side double pedals from walking, a special stabilizer is mounted to the outside frame. This augments the stability of the floor anchor bolts.
Quick-Hook Quick-Hook not only allows rapid spring attachment and reattachment for rapid set up and tear down, it also eliminates wobbling and allows maximum power transmission to the Speedo-Ring. And you never have to worry about it slipping off during performance.
Connecting Rod A new aluminum twin pedal connecting rod provides lighter weight and smoother action. The connecting bolts are now screwed into a new steel plate instead of directly into the connecting rod for greater durability and much easier and less expensive replacement.
Carrying Case You know what pedals go through night after night. After being stomped on over and over, they get thrown in bags and roadcases where there's more hard rock and roll than the gig itself. "No better double bass pedals on the market in my opinion"
Sound:
The sound of these pedals is fantastic. I use a REMO coated Emporer head with some Evans head protectors. The punch is very strong and tight.
Feature:
The pedals come with extra springs, hex wrench and a few other odds and ends. Essentially everything about these pedals can be adjusted to suit your tastes. It also comes with a drum key that fits into a plastic holder on the left pedal, a very nice touch because I am notorious about misplacing my key!
Ease of Use:
Right out of the box these pedals are as easy to use as any I have ever tried. The factory settings will probably be fine for 75% of the users. But you can adjust nearly everything to suit your own playing style and preferences.
Quality:
Legendary TAMA quality. Finish is just what you would expect from TAMA. All my kits are TAMA and this is the perfect complement to them. The pedals and associated hardware are very robust, and the double chain design will assure many years of play. The carrying case is a very nice bonus. I gig a lot with these pedals and before getting these, I used to toss my DW pedals into my equipment bag, not the best thing to do. The only concern I have is the mounts for the beater pads are plastic. They seem robust enough but I am not sure how long they will last. New beater pads are not expensive though, so I will probably get some extras and toss them in the equipment bag.
Value:
You will be very hard pressed to find a better value for the money. Granted, you can get a decent used kit for what you will pay for the pedals, but these pedals will be around a long time after that kit will be!

In all my years of playing I have never had an issue with any TAMA equipment so I really cannot comment.
The Wow Factor:
I'm not sure how drum pedals can have "sex appeal", but the aesthetics of these pedals are as good as it gets. Gorgeous finish.
Overall:
I played with DW pedals for several years and was satisfied with them. I went to a music store and as soon as I played the Iron Cobras I bough them on the spot. They are by far the best I have ever played with in terms of feel, power for effort and overall quality.

if you are looking for nice value and even better bass pedal than this is it. the iron cobra lets you do pretty much whatever you want with it.
Feature:
the Iron Cobra come with extra parts like springs extra heads etc.
Quality:
The Cpbra comes with its own case for easy travel and protection (hardshell). It comes in mint condition. and this pedal is pretty solid item....again the bars that connect the two could be a little stronger.
