The CB10's tone is balanced, and in the lower registers stays clean. Tacoma offers the hottest line of acoustic guitars in over 25 years. All are made in the U.S.A. and are already the third largest US acoustic guitar company.
The Tacoma Guitars "VS" bracing is a radical advance over traditional acoustic guitar bracing. They haven't "adjusted" a design from the 1930's; they have applied 60 years of learning. Tacoma Guitars braces are triangular in shape because they have equal strength to a rounded brace with less mass.
Their "Tone Shaped" bridge is wide and flat on the bass side, and narrow and peaked on the treble side. A luthier's rule of thumb is that low, wide braces are best for bass frequencies, and tall, thin braces are best for treble frequencies. They've applied this thinking to their bridge and it works. The solid Maple bridge plate is asymmetrical, and placed diagonally to enhance the dispersion patterns of our bridge design. The matched bridge and bridge plate configuration balances the bass and treble remarkably, and produces sustain unmatched by any other system. There are no sharp corners on the front edge of the bridge to concentrate stress on the top. Less stress = Longer life.
The Tacoma E3 preamp system made by L.R. Baggs utilizes a ribbon transducer element with unlimited dynamic range that leads the flex in the top. The preamp is a pure class-A discrete FET. The Quasi-passive EQ section is a synthesized cap and coil circuit parallel with the original signal. The units are custom voiced for Tacoma Guitars' line, and are also tuned specifically for use in either guitars or basses. The preamp features volume, bass, midrange, treble, and phase controls.
