I wanted a left-handed Jazz bass in sunburst and tort that wouldn't break the bank. This Squier VM Jazz bass is just what I was looking for. It is my first Jazz bass, so I cannot compare the pickups to a MIA or MIM Jazz bass, but they do sound how I always expected, a bright bell-like tone. The only complaints I have with the bass are that it's much quieter than my P-bass or my Thunderbird, but this is a minor issue. I also changed out the chrome knobs for more traditional Jazz bass knobs. The tort pickguard looks really nice, not pixelated like you see on other repo tort guards. After a minor set up and change to my favorite strings, it sounds and plays wonderful! If any lefty wants that vintage look without the vintage price. I never looked at Squier as a serious brand before I picked one of these up and played it, I would recommend it to any of my fellow Bassists as a tremendous value for a high-quality instrument. Zzounds' payment plan was also very helpful, as being a college student makes buying anything other than books and paying for tuition very difficult. Thank you Zzounds!
