"This headphone is great for its price and sound quality."
Sound
Superb sound for $50. Sound clarity is excellent. Highs are crisp and not overly thin unlike those low quality cans. Mid range are good and powerful. Bass is great too but not deep enough (no sound at less than 50hz). Many people will say that this doesn't have enough "thump and boom" because they only express those if the source has a bassy song. This means that this can is for monitoring for it expresses relatively flat frequency response. The bad thing about the sound of these cans is that poor quality mp3's will sound awful. You can also recognize the difference between a 128kbps mp3 and cd quality, depending on the complexity of the songs and the sensitivity of your ears.
Features
I like that this phones has the old 1/4 or 0.25-inch plug and the minijack for wide range compatibility. It also has low impedance (24 ohms) that allows it to be compatible with many portable players, including those $1 pocket fm radio. Also its jack is gold plated, which is common in high end headphones.
Ease of Use
Most headphones is easy to use for me.
Quality
What I don't like about this headphone is that the band can break easily. You can break the bond by just dropping it on the cement from 5ft high. I've already replaced them once for that reason. Fit is good but can be fatiguing for extended listening. It doesn't make you look like an alien unlike those big,… read more bulky more high end headphones.
Value
This product is well worth the price. It exceeds my expectations in sound quality.
Manufacturer Support
Sony is friendly with their professional headphone products. I just sent this headphone that I accidentally dropped and with broken band (headphone still under warranty), and they replaced it with a new one without any complaint.
