Description
Docs
The cutting-edge industrial design of the E4c is a breakthrough in sound isolating earphone technology. Ideal for the business traveler and on-the-go audiophile, the High-Definition Driver with Tuned Port Technology delivers brilliant highs and extended bass that enhance your listening experience with your portable MP3, DVD, and CD players as well as all other audio sources.

Sound Isolating Technology
The E4c's in ear design works like an earplug to block background noise naturally. This enables you to listen comfortably at lower volumes-even in loud environments. And unlike bulky headphones utilizing active noise cancellation technology, no artifacts are introduced into your listening experience. Sound isolating earphones are also much smaller and don't require batteries.

Speaker Type: High-Definition Drivers with Tuned Port Technology
E4c Sound Isolating Earphones feature High-Definition drivers with Tuned Port Technology for incredible audio reproduction. As the ideal companion to any portable or home audio source, the E4c's Tuned Port design improves airflow around the driver to deliver professional-grade sound with extended bass response.

Personal Fit Kit
Because every ear is different, E4c Earphones come with a pair of disposable Foam Sleeves, a pair of Triple Flange Sleeves, three pairs (small, medium, large) of Flex Sleeves, and three pairs of Soft Flex Sleeves (small, medium, large) to ensure the ideal personalized fit.

Secure In Ear Design
The soft, flexible sleeves in the Fit Kit gently contour to the inside of your ear to create a comfortable, secure fit, so that the earphones don't fall out while you're exercising. The E4c's are also compatible with custom-molded sleeves, made by a hearing specialist, for the ultimate in fit and comfort.

Lightweight Construction
Weighing only 1.1oz (31 g), the E4c is lightweight and secure enough for any portable listening application.

Earphones Carrying Case
The E4c comes with a stylish, compact carrying case, providing a convenient, tangle-free way to store your earphones.

Level Attenuator
An included volume level control allows for comfortable listening from any high-output audio source, such as airplane armrests.

"Audition before you buy."
Feature:
A large selection of ear plugs from small to big, from soft to hard, different shapes and materials. Also supplied is an in-line volume control so if your MP3/CD has a high background hiss, turn up your MP3 and turn down this supplied volume control. Replacement ear plug stems and earwax removing tool supplied (!)

Quality:
Build quality is very good. Cables sturdier than your average in-ear earphone. All the more surprising that the sound is so bad.

Value:
Perhaps for professional on-stage monitoring or TV use, this is the one; because speech is very clear. But for music listening pleasure you can get other ear canal phones for 1/10 of the price and they sound so much better.

Desirability:
It's pretty, especially the white one. But I cannot return it because I opened all the earplugs (I was hoping in vain for one that would raise the bass). But as to the claim that "delivers brilliant highs and extended bass that enhance your listening experience with your portable MP3, DVD, and CD players ..." No. Nonono.

Sound:
Very mid-tone heavy. In fact, the mid-tones have a sort of bullhorn effect. Cymbals don't sizzle, they sneeze. Snare drums sound like they have a blanket over them. Tone controls on your MP3 or CD player (with bass boost) is a must, yet even then the bass disappoints. Highs also don't seem to be extended, as the manufacturer claims. No frequency response graphs available for this product. Blocks outside sounds very well, depending on earplug used.

Ease of Use:
Read the instructions on how to fit them. It takes some getting used to. Correct fitting is essential, but once you get the hang of it, they sit securely; moreso than your average in-ear earphone. Here is where the professional heritage of the E-series shows.

Support:
Never needed. Cannot return it for hygiene reasons because I tried all the earplugs.

Overall:
If I think how much I paid for it, my heart sinks into my stomach. It will lie in my drawer until I finally get courage together to throw it away. What a waste of money.
