zZounds Gear Experts Say...
Great for beginners and professionals, this 8-string electric guitar from Schecter boasts superb tone and a rosewood fingerboard.
Overview
Eight strings of raw power! The Schecter Hellraiser Special C8 8-String Electric Guitar has superb tone and feel which has been specifically engineered for the eight string player. With fantastic pickups and a great neck that is just the right size, the Hellraiser Special C8 is the perfect choice for professionals or someone who is just entering the world of the 8 string.
Schecter Tuners
These high quality tuners feature a classic design in a lubricated and sealed housing to protect gears for a lifetime of maintenance free playability. Details include a 15:1 gear ratio for smooth and precise tuning, removable knobs, threaded hex peghead bushing, and a 10mm diameter peg hole.Rosewood Fingerboard
The most common fretboard, Rosewood is naturally oily, and works well for any surface that sees frequent human contact. The sound is richer in fundamental than Maple because the stray overtones are absorbed into the oily pores.EMG Active 808 Pickups
The 707 has been leading the pack of 7-string guitar pickups since its debut in 2001, and is now available for the 8-String! Before this model was introduced, existing 8-string pickups sounded muddy and dull on the low F# string, especially when trying to hit artificial and natural harmonics, but the 808 eliminates all those problems. Featuring Alnico V loaded wide aperture coils they were able to beef up that Low F# tone and at the same time provide a more responsive super tight overall sound.Specs

i would most defenately buy this product again. ZZounds is the greatest retailer out there. top shelf guitars at reasonable prices.
Sound
one of a kind. for cleans, keep the volume on a bout 5 and turn your amp volume up louder. you get better cleans.
Features
the knobs were a little tight but its cool. just something to wear the new off of. the pickups are nice. its my first guitar with active pickups...
Ease of Use
i really had to tweak the knobs to get what i wanted soundwise. However, once i dialed it in, its amazing! It does take some getting used to going from a six string Ibanez s to an eight string Schecter. after about a week though, i couldnt put it down. its playablility is unsurpassed. i was really expecting a HUGE neck contour but thats not the case at all. i am a man with small fingers and its really easy to play once you get used to the string spacing.
Quality
the quality is amazing. the set neck is what makes it. i knew i deviated from Ibanez for a good reason. this Schecter is a much better buy comparitively speaking to its Ibanez counterpart (the RG 2228) i just dont see needing a floating tremolo on an 8 string. this thing NEVER goes out of tuning. the double carbon fiber rods are just the icing on the cake.
Value
i would've paid 1200 for this. best deal out there.

The Wow Factor
i love the wide neck, the 26.5 scale length, and the quilted top. not to mention the deep red color. the inlays are one of a kind as well.
