Reverend Guitars and Railhammer Pickups have joined forces with guitarist extraordinaire Reeves Gabrels from The Cure. Loaded with the revolutionary Railhammer Chisel bridge and neck pickups, this versatile solid body can cover everything from high-gain shred to avant garde rock to heavy blues.

Unique features include: toggle-style switch that can be rotated to different angles, up-route underneath the tremolo for extra travel, and push-pull phase switch (in the tone control) to push the sonic boundaries. A traditional-meets-modern powerhouse!

Korina Body

Korina (aka White Limba) is a medium-light weight wood, highly prized for consistency and tonal qualities. Often found in boutique and vintage instruments, all Reverends feature Korina bodies. A highly resonant wood, Korina is a key factor to producing our lively, responsive instruments that are rich in harmonics.

Bass Contour

This passive bass roll-off is great for tightening up the low end, or re-voicing the pickups. It can make a humbucker sound like a single-coil, or give a P-90 that classic twang. Variable pickup voicing at your fingertips!

Pin-Lock Tuners

A thumbwheel under the tuner pushes a steel pin up through the post, locking the string in place for exceptional tuning stability and super-fast string changes. Also, the posts are custom height, eliminating the need for a second string tree.

Graphite Nut

Reverend uses a graphite impregnated nut on all Reverend instruments. Graphite read more reduces friction, allowing the strings to easily slide through the nut slots, improving tuning stability.

Dual-Action Truss Rod

Reverend's dual action rod adjusts in both directions, allowing back bow or forward bow. This assures correct adjustment range is possible regardless of string tension, extreme climate conditions, or the effects of long term aging. It's also located at the headstock for easy access.

Wilkinson WVS50 IIK Tremolo

Features include saddles that lock to the base plate, adjustable arm swing tension, and a push-in/no freeplay arm. Combined with a graphite nut and pin-lock tuners, it stays in tune even under aggressive whammy action.

Received this guitar last week and have played it for about 12 hours -- unplugged and plugged in through Axe-FX II and a Mesa Boogies Nomad but not yet at volume in a rehearsal or gig. I also own PRS, Fender American Strat, Gretsch Country Gentleman JR, etc. The Reverend is as well made as any of them and came set up great. Only quibble was the tone pot -- which is also push/pull for out-of-phase. That was bit loose but easy to tighten up. The neck is I think, my favorite of any guitar I own. The oval shape fits my hand well and feels just right. Frets are dressed better than on my PRS's. There are no dead spots, although the shoulder makes it a bit hard to reach strings 6 and 5 from the 20th fret up, not that I typically use those. Electronics and controls are great. There are sweet tones in every switch position. The bass contour control is awesome. As promised, it takes you from growl to twang pretty effectively. There is a downside to it, though as it also makes it possible to get less than ideal tones in every position. So I find myself adjusting the bass contour control much more than a regular treble control or even the volume control. That's not a problem if you are comfortable adjusting knobs as you play. You may want to do that more than normal with this guitar. One other quibble, the volume knob position behind the vibrato bar makes the knob slightly difficult to use. Not a big problem. Overall, the guitar plays like a dream. Very responsive and resonant. Love the read more maple neck as it seems to make hammer-ons really bounce. Looking forward to trying it at volume. If it cuts through the mix as well it plays at home, it could be my new number one. It certainly looks cooler than a more mainstream guitar.
