With the new DS-50A's, Roland brings 24-bit digital nearfield monitoring within reach of all musicians and project studios. Featuring a 50W, bi-amp design with active crossover and 24-bit/96kHz digital input, these digital monitors eliminate the noise and hum problems associated with analog cabling while delivering ultra-flat response at an unbelievably low price.

Very nice, feature laden, digital in is the reason I bought these. The HF and LF controls should be on the front.
Value:
I got a very good deal on these, but overall I feel that I am paying for the name some extent.
Sound:
I was tempted to rate this as a 6, but then I thought of the "other" guy's and went to a 7. I use and 01v96 and DP4. You definite need a sub for near fields, but these tend to lack the warmth that exists in other higher end near field powered monitors.
Support:
No issues as I work with the local dealer on the product.
Overall:
"you get what you pay for" just don't pay more than you have too! This is a very clean and quite monitor when used with a digital input.

Roland DS50A Powered Monitor with Digital Inputs Customer Review
I use 2 x DS50's for my Roland RD700 stage piano. These are great, flat sound that provide the best response from the keyboard, no question!
