"Versatile, solid 300 Watt head kicks 1000 Watts worth of Ass!! "

Overall: 5 out of 5 stars

I can foresee using this amp until my fingers fall off. And hopefully, by that time, we'll have a good source of robotic replacement fingers that I can have installed, so I can keep playing!

Sound
My Warhead is the older version of this.. still 300 Watts, same features, but with the power switch on back. Using it for metal with Project Darkless, reverbnation.com/projectdarkless , I really fell for it when I heard the distortion tone it produces- this is the first amp I've ever owned that I can dial in a good distortion sound and still have room left on the knob! As if that weren't enough, the clean sound is not only clean, but BIG and well balanced, and never gets thin when you change to the clean channel. On top of this, it's EXTREMELY versatile- the EQ section works very well- the mid sweep and level are great, and the graphic EQ works very well to fine tune your sound- THEN, Randall put in the digital effects. These could have been overdone and cheesy, but they're not- they're all very useful and well balanced, and sound amazing in either the clean or dirty channel. Can't say enough about this amp!

Features
When talking about features, I'm talking about the independent mid, bass, and treble controls for the clean and dirty channels- On top of that, the digital effects and graphic EQ are great as well- both VERY useful! I haven't even used the effects loop much yet, because I've been so stoked about the tone read more I get just plugging into the head, that I'm having to rethink how I'm even using effects with it- I'll be using them, but I don't really need to rely on them anymore!

Ease of Use
All laid out in an intuitive way, with instructions right there... "Pull for Boost" , etc... nice big knobs and an easy to read faceplate too-

Quality
Suffice to say, I KNOW this head is well built- it's survived things that would make scrap out of a lot of other amps... and it still works perfectly!

Value
In my humble opinion, well worth the price. Especially in my case because I got mine used!

Manufacturer Support
To the extent I've dealt with Randall, they've been good. Emailed a manual- (they didn't have a schematic for this head, but sent another one I'd requested in about 10 minutes.)

The Wow Factor
It is cool looking, for sure- I think the silver back behind the steel grate looks pretty snazzy, personally.
